We don't know that, it's an assumption and not a fact.

It's a pretty dam good assumption tbh, lets say the 9800 is twice the power of the 8800gt/gtx and therefore gives you twice the frame rate at most, then it's still not going to run crysis smooth on the later levels, and thats assuming the card is twice as powerful.

sooooooo then, looks like gtx is still top :D:p, dam this card is gonna last me a year and half the ways things going lol.

<leans back into chair with smug grin>

we dont know that as the gtx wasnt compared, they only compared it in crysis which gave virtually identical performance to the 8800GTS G92. the other benchmarks are about 10% faster than GT and the GTX is about 10% faster than GT in most reviews so they could actually be about the same speed!

GT will be a decent bang for buck when it goes down to its proper £135 mark. this card wont be worth the extra £50+. uses 50 watts more on loads too:( think i'll wait for 9800 series.

Sorry to sound stupid, but what does the 'premium' mean on GPU's? Is it just the fairly high release price?

Charging a 'premium' simply refers to opportunistic retailers taking advantage of demand outstripping supply by charging above the recommended retail price (RRP) in order to make higher profit.

All perfectly legal.:D

something seems strange to me
on the first crisis graph it shows the gt being faster than the new gts on medium settings
dont see how that can be true

It was a pre planned calculated move. Luck didn't even figure in the equation. :)

No, luck played a big part since most retailers sold out within minutes of the 150 quid stock and are yet to get more in at that price, also the GT is behind the GTX in almost every benchmark so it's hardly GTX performance :) (technically speaking :))

The GT commands a premium now and It will do until next year so don't give me the £150 spiel when you can't get one at that price anywhere :D
