**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

Lol, there's nothing in it is there, i think most of these ti's clock pretty much the same, the days of massive overclocks are long gone, manufactures pushing them out the box for bragging rights lol.
My gaming x does 1950mhz/5500 at stock, with +55 core/+520 memory at 100% volts,117% pwr,90c temp limit, it boosts to 2038mhz/6040 any more and I get crashes.

I wouldn't buy palit if someone put a gun to my head - palit/gainward RMA support is absolutely awful

Funny, because I've had both Asus and Giga cards previously and had issues with both. I had a Palit card that was brilliant which is why I pre ordered the Super Jetstream, that and because it's usually the quietest AIB cooler which is a big priority with me.

If I weren't bothered about noise I'd have simply gone with a FE at launch because the AIB cards don't seem to add anything else.

My last card which was the gainward phoenix custom gs 980 ti was flawless in the time i owned it, have had palit also in the past also flawless

Have been tweaking my Aorus 1080ti (non Extreme) card and find it responds well to overclocking.

I've managed to get to run stable with the memory clock up to 12,246 (some +1238 over standard), the GPU clock at 1721 (+38 over the stock OC value)

With a slight tweak to the fan speed to stop it thermal throttling, it turns in a good score of 7375 (overall) on Firestrike 4K

These cards are not worth overclocking thats it! trying to max out the card will also affect frame times potentially. Nvidia just took out all the fun GPU boost works fine. +350 on the memory and you good to go!

I didnt say their products were bad or more likely to fail, I said their RMA support is bad.
Obviously when you buy a card you hope you never need support, but there is that risk with any purchase. As bad as Asus or Gigabyte can be, they dont hold a candle to the utter contempt Palit/Gainward have for their customers.

And that's how it supposed to be! :-) Wait...what? No?? 8-O

Who knows, some people reckon the i7 throttles at 65c, my 6700k @ 4.8 1.4v did hit that before i delidded now it doesn't go over 50c 100% prime load.
Those people are misinformed then. Ive never seen it throttle anywhere upto 80 degrees. TJ max is 105 so if its going to throttle it will be near there around 90s .
Intel cpus tend to be good anywhere upto 80 degrees. Reason people like to keep them cooler is for max overclock capabilities plus people think it helps with longevity which it probably does but increasing voltage does more damage to that than the temps.

According to Intel's website the max safe temp for the 6850K I run is 69C!

I've not known CPUs to throttle so early but I know the 1080Ti can begin to throttle at 42C!

Can't remember where i got that info but either way it's sloppy from manufactures, they could do a much better job with their products, intel and nvidia.

Wow, just got a shipment notice for my Aorus Xtreme Edition. Thanks OCUK; I wasn't expecting that until Friday. Now to persuade the missus to let me have it 3 weeks ahead of my birthday. Maybe I'll just put my 1070 in the box before she gets out of bed (night worker). ;):D
