It will overclock the same as every other 1080ti aib due to the hard stop nvidia has on these cards.

No, this card is a myth and preorders were only in place to make me sad.Is OCUK ever going to get stock in for the MSI Sea Hawk X, I pre ordered on the 10th of March and since then a UK competitor has stock in twice now and when you check on the OCUK site they is not even a due date for stock

As danoliver said but you will need ethernet connection for streaming games.
Glad to hear the Asus has no coil whine and they are clocking like champs.
Another 105pc are due mid/end next week which will clear all backorders and give us ample in free stock.
Gigabyte also just confirmed large shipment of Aorus and Aorus Extreme which are the fastest cards, also due end of next week.
Zotac also just shipped us loads of AMP and some more Extremes.
Can we get an exact date on when the ASUS strix OC 1080ti will ship out? It would really suck if "end of next week" ended up being the 22nd or 23rd which would translate into an actual delivery date of May 1 or longer

My wait is coming onto 6 weeks now...
I think gibbo said another 10 are arriving this week.
Well guys if any of you are still planning on getting 1080TI`s ect, and are looking for cards with better over clocking and air i wouldn't waste your time
most of the cards will top out at around 2000-2100 and will 100% hit power limitations and fluctuate between speeds within that range.... as nvidia have hard locked the power limit.
and only way around it is with a shunt mod.... and even then it will only stabilize the fluctuations but then its down to silicon lottery if your core will reach 2100+......
------------
So my advice, go for the cheapest....

All cards will overclock to the same speed dosn't matter how many power phases it has only difference is noise levels, warranty and aesthetics.
i have been saying this for ages mate lol. I said i solved thermal issues by putting it under water and stays under 40 degrees. (seems weird it sitting at 22 degrees idle tbh) That left me with the next road block which was power limitation. I said i would need to shunt mod to get past this which then leaves me with the next one which most overclockers tend to face and that's stability/voltage roadblock which all comes down the silicon lottery. Kept getting people telling me otherwise. It's not power limit it thermal throttles at 32 blah blah. Like i don't know haha.
Problem is it seems with these cards is that once you start giving it some overclocking the power usage goes mental. As in how much watts the card draws. Just another 150Mhz over what my card was boosting to by default saw another 50 watts of draw easily. This card is supposed to be a 250 watt TDP card. I think that's why nvidia put these limitations in place. They have them efficient at a certain clock speed and upping it looses that efficiency.
Doing the shunt mod and trying to keep 2100Mhz and a memory overclock could see the card draw anywhere from 325 - 350watts at peak usage.

Got mine in already, i stripped one of my case screws trying to get the lid off though, so i need to wait for some remover bits to use with a drill before i can try the cooler

Mine doesn't hit it's power limit, 94.5 %0is the most it's used, at 2050.

Mmm wondering if I can be bothered to wait for the Aorus Waterforce cards to come out or just grab a normal aorus and see if Alphacool can get a block out first for it

I couldn't be doing with the waiting my FE does 2025 and 11.8ghz and tops at 70% fan which keeps temps below 80 degrees at all times and normally sits at 1974mhz on the core you may get an extra 50/75mhz that's going to get you 1fps more but you would have waited weeks and weeks and it would have cost you more also I like the look of the fe
I'm very happy with my strix. I can put +70 on the core and it is stable as a rock. Temps never go above 68 and it's very quiet, in fact on desktop usage it doest spin up at all.
I transfered my rig into a fractal design r5 yesterday and well and now the whole system is very quiet. Get card and case combination.
In someway there is no need to benchmark. The card pushes to 1950mhz without me doing anything and at the temps that's fine by me.
On a side note, I'm still a little perplexed that an over 800 quid card still struggles at 4k on wildlands at ultra. Is that game just terribly optimised or something!? It doesn't look that great to me visually.....

Are you surprised? It's ubi**** lol. Known for bringing out poory optimized and half broken games
Agreed. The FE might not be the coolest or quietest card but it still one of the best looking (classy rather than gamer bling). I've been enjoying playing games on mine since release day, rather than scouring websites for stock and watching the inevitable price increases. The +£100 custom cards really have a hard time justifying themselves.I couldn't be doing with the waiting my FE does 2025 and 11.8ghz and tops at 70% fan which keeps temps below 80 degrees at all times and normally sits at 1974mhz on the core you may get an extra 50/75mhz that's going to get you 1fps more but you would have waited weeks and weeks and it would have cost you more also I like the look of the fe
Having said that, if you've waited this long, you may as well wait it out now.

4k is still pretty demanding though, that's why i went 1440p and high hz instead since i had a choice.. minimums can still dip low at 4k.

Yeah defiantly but it don't help with lazy sods at ubi rushing out half finished games just so they can cash in quicker
They need to take a leaf out of the book of CDPR or even Activision (every cod game I have played has ran like butter from day one)
Some games are demanding at 4k but optimized well as I have found out over the last 2-3 years
Some are train wrecks and it's usually a Ubisoft title lol
Oh and ark ..... that seem to run like **** no matter what
I think without gsync tho my views may have turned out differently
Got bless gsync and all who use her
