Not crazy at all if GTX 980 really sells for £350 ish @ launch as Nvidia knocked the price down at the last minute & it really offers much better power consumption it will be a killer card & devalue the entire current high end single GPU market (except for Titans they are always an exception due to compute performance).
Suddenly you have last years high end become mid range literally over night as price per watt on 980 is superior & performance on drivers will improve a little. I think its unlikely Nvidia would launch these @ a major self promoted/funded event if they were not something worth upgrading to.
I love my GTX 780 Ti but I can admit its power hungry as it needs to run on recent games @ high watts to power my 2560x1080 Ultra Wide monitor maxxed out![]()
Well I'd like to know how both the 780Ti and the 980 run when both are clocked at 1200mhz, considering the 780Ti they're testing is still clocked at 875mhz and we all know its got another 35% of extra performance available I doubt clock for clock the 980 would beat the 780Ti, now the question is how high does the 980 clock with the stock fan.
I don't give a **** about benching (apart from the gym), any loon can do that. It's all about the FRAMES MAN!!!!!
Saying that I'd put it out there that the peeps with the best/newest top gear, suck at gaming in general! (still)![]()

Seems like a worthy upgrade from my 680 SLI
