Not sure about Ti pricing rumours,im still of the opinion the 980 will take a decent price cut soon,so if Ti was from 6-700 in range I'd not understand the gap being created there?less I'm wrong of course, wouldn't be first time.
Gpu prices I find at top end to be hideous personally for what these cards really are, wonder how much in parts and manufacturing a Titan costs compared to say a 970 or 290..?
Know I'm getting to be an old and cynical swine, but still remember buying cards like 980pro for around the 250-300 mark and handling like gold dust taking out the box,if I spent almost a grand of my money on some of these cards I'd be worried bout taking cellophane off the box:)
Think nvidia have people sit round table deciding on prices,no accountants mind,
One says"$600"?...another says "$700"?....gets to $1,000 and they burst out laughing and say"yeh that'll do":D

Why is that relevant? I want the "best" card I can get at the time of upgrading. Old/new irrelevant.

Then the best card you can get will either be the titan-x or the 390x.
What I was trying to say is that if the 390x comes out with only 4Gb then I wouldn't even consider it. If the 980ti prices are within £150 of the titan then I'd look at getting an OCUK titan if funds allowed.

I got mine to go ultra wide.
If I'd stayed at 1440 I'd just have stuck with my standard 980.

980 with 4gb wasn't enough for 1440p if you wanted all ultra and 60fps Titan X and 1440p is the sweet spot. 980 at 1440p was a little weak tbh. That's why I upgraded to Titan X. Getting between 70-80fps on GTA V using 5gb vram. before it was 45-55fps.. Titan X is amazing GPU and worth it if you can find it for £800.

I don't see what the fuss is about with backplates. Certainly wouldn't want to pay more for one fitted.
They're useful for big and heavy cards that are likely to bend, other than that, it's purely aesthetics. Do you really care that much about the looks of the card? Those who do for cool projects usually just create there own anyway, or watercool their cards.

Some say it helps cooling, can't see that it would help all that much if implemented that way. There's been cases where they have insulated the back of the card, making it worse.
I think prospective Titan X buyers were/are just annoyed that the 980 had one and the X didn't.

Slightly more expensive than I was hoping, but I suppose it makes sense. I'll just wait and see what AMD has to offer now I guess.
