Yeah true, they also have a 390X HBM for an eye-watering ~£845..:p

Considering I recently got a G-Sync ROG Swift, the 390X would have to be outstanding for me to consider it.

The Witcher 3 at 1440p is my benchmark. I want 60fps.
A single Titan X struggles with that, and I would considering two 980Ti's, but it depends on the price so much.

If the 980ti tops at most at £600 I'd get two.

Everyone's getting heated over price, come on we all know nothings set in stone until they release it. IMO $699 is the worst they can get away with. The 780Ti released at that price with more cores than the Titan not a few hundred less so any more than $700 would be a joke.

haha dream on ! some 980s cost that much. £750 is my guess, right between the 980 and the Titan X. That way they don't have to drop their prices on the 970 and 980.

You're the one who's dreaming! I reckon they'll drop the price of the 980's a touch and keep the 970's roughly where they are as they're selling in droves right now.

AMD must have something up their sleeve if it is 4GB. They aren't going to gimp themselves right from the start if they thought 4GB HBM isn't enough.

They may not have a choice in the mater, if they can't source 8GB HBM chips then there is nothing they can do about it.

Does the TItan X not manage W3 60fps, 1440p?? With hair works off and foliage distance at high?
I would have thought/ hoped it would do???

With the above settings, on my rog swift with 2x780Ti in SLI can pretty much maintain 60fps, and that's with these rubbish latest drivers that crash the desktop constantly and cripple keplar performance.
P.s. Is anyone running W3 with hair works on? It's such a massive performance hit, for very very minor visual gain.

Everything I've seen shows the TX getting around 45-60 at Ultra without hairworks. I want to avoid dropping below 60 as much as possible.

Seems the game, and drivers need a good bit more optimisation.

I also just want to run the game at proper full ultra, although without silly amounts of AA. Some SMAA would be nice.

Edit: The hairworks looks amazing on furry monsters and bears.
I kinda wish they implemented TressFX as well, so people had the option of both.

Have a look at my SweetFX profile (thread in PC games section). That gives you SMAA, as well as removing the awful orangey over saturated colour tint that the devs must have applied by accident the day before release.
Seriously, whoever the colourist at CDPR is, they need a right kick up the arse

Hmm, I'm expect £675 as the price point for the TI - far enough away from the others to avoid 'self-competing' on price.

With little movement for the rest of the line-up, just hoping that the new AMD card shakes things up & forces down the prices to something more reasonable. It's a shame that graphics card hardware has fallen behind new monitor resolutions for high end games, roll on the next generation.

I actually have that. Makes it look so much better. I just meant I would like if those were ingame options instead of with the Injector.

SweetFX and Reshade conflict with Dxtory, fraps, Afterburner and other software which makes it crash a lot, or just not run. :(

I still don't know why they changed the colour palette from realistic colours to the orange hue with oversaturation. It looks even worse on my ROG SWIFT due to its vibrance.

I hope that's how much the Superclocked variants costs, otherwise its encroaching on Titan X price territory a tad too much.
Hopefully AMD does shake things up on performance and make NV drop some prices.

Smart, glad you like it :)

By the way, if you're looking for a framerate monitor, framerate limiter, screen shot or video capture prog, that pretty much works with everything......get Bandicam!
I can't recommend it enough. It seems to work with every game I have, whether I'm using SweetFX or not, and with games that have issues with fraps etc.

Tried it before, but never got the same level of quality as Dxtory for me.

Seems Shadowplay is also a good option according to the folks that make the SweetFX profiles and record it to show off.

At least with SweetFX with Reshade it takes screenshots with good ole PrtScn button.
Oddly it stores them in GOG Games\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\bin\x64
They are massively good quality pngs though. The average screenshot, even currently at 1920x1200 is like 3-5MB.

SLI'ing two of these for a 4k display is sounding really appealing, are the days of SLI latency increases a thing of the past? I know SLI has come on leaps and bounds but is it now 100% indistinguishable from a single card setup? (If the game fully supports SLI of course) in terms of frame latency and stuttering?
