Bang on^^ It's definitely worth waiting a bit longer if you're looking at buying now as a few reviews and videos have hinted that it's worth seeing what AMD have to offer, even if it does just cause another price adjustment on the Nvidia cards.

Yet again contradicting opinions in terms of noise, anandtech say its slightly louder than the tx, other sites not agreeing.
oh looks nice.. So tempted. And around the £550 mark as well![]()
Ttl said 450 to 400, so 50£ drop in the ukAnandtech say it's a $50 drop to $499, which isn't much...
It will be more or less the same for the reference cooled ones.
Never been in this position of buy a card on launch.. I like it![]()
pfffft....
looks very hot, and very loud, with reported coil noise from the review sites that I trust the most.
Not sure where people are getting £500/550 prices for the 980ti. No such indication based on the US prices. More like £650/700 and considering you can actually get a titan X for under 800 nowadays, there isn't as big a chasm as people think.
The titan X is better, there is just no doubt about it (even though performance-wise they are close). Seems a 4-5% performance difference between the two. Also, in multi-monitor/4k gaming scenarios, my money would still be on the TX. Whether people think that the price/performance ratio is worthwhile, that is entirely up to them. We had a similar discussion when the 780 came out after the original Titan.

First for me as well! Started looking into upgrades this evening and it turns out this is on the door step. Perfect timing!
The bigger story here isn't the 980ti, its the fact its essentially a titan x for nearly half the cost.
Indeed. But now i feel like i need to upgrade my poor little CPU because ermm.. well.. There's no reason![]()
TX is £699 + shipping if you shop wisely -
TX is £699 + shipping if you shop wisely - has been for a good while already. £149 extra does not equal to "nearly half the cost" and buys you 6GB of VRAM and a full, uncut chip. Dunno, could be worth it for some, definitely not "redundant" as you guys seem to be quick to claim.

You should maybe watch the reviews. Ttl states the uk msrp of the 980ti £550. So it is £300+ difference. I think the technical word for that kinda difference is a chasm. Why are you looking at us prices when uk ones are confirmed. Also titan x and 980ti are an even match in gaming benches, look at linus and ttl reviews. Ttl found his sample to beat a tx. Ive also not seen a tx below £800, think they are £850+ on here
