**Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti Review Thread**

I like how instead of commenting on the 980ti many posts are just having a snide go at TX owners :p

Me thinks some people are still a little jelly.

Man... if 980s drop to £3XX.99, then I might choose one of those in a few weeks, instead of a 970. By coincidence, my deposit on my flat (which is to be claimed as I move out) is exactly £400. But, I'll still wait for AMD to release. Could cause more price drops or surprise us, though with the 980ti doing this well... unlikely :(
Also, on the Anandtech written review, benchmarks mention a R9 290X Uber, wtf is that? Is it the 290X rebrand?

Now where are the OCUK listings for the 980&980ti?

If that's the case expect close performance for £450.

People need to read the GTX980TI reviews.

Within two weeks we'll bear witness to partner-clocked cards that tease the most out of the second-generation Maxwell architecture, and we fully expect the cream of this crop to be faster than the reference Titan X in every regard. Whether such speed will be good enough to hold on to the single-GPU crown in the face of imminent upcoming competition from the Fiji-infused Radeon R9 390X is one of the more interesting debates in the premium PC graphics space.

Bit-tech

With the R9 390X expected by the end of June, there's little reason to part with your cash right now if you're shopping for a high-end GPU. This is clearly an awesome card, but nonetheless our advice is to take note of the various GTX 980 Ti cards that come out and then see what AMD brings to the table before making your choice.

Anandtech

It goes without saying that NVIDIA has given AMD a very high bar to beat, but AMD has proven to be quite resourceful in the past, so it shall be interesting to see just what AMD’s response is to the GTX 980 Ti.

As for this moment, the high-end video card market is essentially in a holding pattern. The GeForce GTX 980 Ti is a fine card for the price – a GTX Titan X for $649 – however with AMD’s new flagship card on the horizon buyers are likely better off waiting to see what AMD delivers before making such a purchase, if only to see if it further pushes down video card prices.

The Tech Report

Then again, prospective buyers may want to wait a few weeks, because AMD is preparing its own next-gen GPU, code-named Fiji, to do battle with the GM200. We already know Fiji will feature an innovative memory type, known as HBM, that promises quite a bit more throughput than any of Nvidia's current products. That advantage could make Fiji rather formidable when all is said and done. At the very least, things are about to get interesting. Nvidia has played a strong hand, and now it's up to AMD to counter.

And then there is the big unknown variable in form of AMD's upcoming Fiji cards, which could change things dramatically, so definitely wait on purchase until those cards are released.

I think if Fiji was a dud, there would be none of this hinting happening IMHO!

Neither would Nvidia be essentially re-introducing the Titan X at a much lower price point.

Its going to be an interesting month for cards methinks!

I just hope the price drops on the GTX970 too since the GTX980 is now cheaper.

Either way it's not nice :P
Although the timing is never taken in consideration: for who has the money to get a couple of TXd, two months are worth much more than a few hundred quids.

Fair point. The titan x was basically you had access to this performance 2 months before everyone else for a premium. If i could afford a titan x, i would probably have been glad of those 2 months, but for someone buying now the tx is pointless. The tx was sort of renting 2 months early access performance for £400

I haven't seen price drops on GTX 980's yet... also I'm just waiting for those darn 980Ti to be listed in the webshops so I can order two.

We knew it was coming anyway.

I just don't see why some peoples first thoughts on entering a 980ti review thread are to bash TX owners instead of commenting on the reviews? Comes across as a little insecure.

Very unlikely that its going to out perform this

I just hope the 390X launches soon, so we can see if it will affect the prices or not.

Though like I said, I'm not sure I can wait long, I'll be very temped to order a 980TI as soon as they are available :D Though I will try and wait!
