*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Wish I had bought it! Wouldn't have had to go through all the 3080 poolaaarva

There was a thread on here pre RTX30xx launch about how the price would fall sub £400 when the 3070 launched which outperformed it. They aren't worth £700 but people are desperate in this short stock situation and some are paying that kind of money.

well....if you have a VR rig and are still awaiting your 3080 I urge you not to lose faith and think its not worth it. Just tried Half Life Alyx with the MSI Gaming Trio 3080 and the HTC Vive and....HOLLY ****P!!!! We are talking hollo-deck levels of realism and graphics.
That's awesome
Probably won't be soon after I get the 3080 that I'll get a vr headset, but it's definitely on the list!

I saw Asus Strix 3080, £1550 and 18 BIDS

So ppl with money are paying double RRP

No wonder the scalping is so crazy on the bay

Just cant figure out why ppl cant wait, coz when 3080s are inundated in the market they will cry like babies.

It could be far worse for 6800XT seekers because they are so strong at Bitcoin mining. Many will go to huge Chinese Mining farms straight from the factory.

AMD drivers have been dead stable for me in recent years, and now they have the same code base as those used in the latest consoles, I think they are unlikely to falter (how often do consoles crash?). I'm going to seriously watch the post launch reviews, but know they'll be as rare as rocking horse s*** to get hold of.

Ok all, I know this is a stock specific thread, and i am genuinely not trying to wind anyone up, but I have a bit of an update on a comment I made about 8000 pages ago.

someone made a comment about using VR with a 3080 and I pointed out we were using 2 x MSi GTX 1080’s in SLi with an HTC Vive Pro and the VR was already pretty good.

if any of you have been lucky enough to try the Void VR at Disney Springs you’ll know its pretty special. But I really can’t impress on you the improvement using the RTX 3080! It is ASTOUNDING!

So hang in there, especially if you are lucky enough to have a decent VR rig, the difference is well worth the wait.

oh, and if you don’t have an HTC Vive Pro and Half Life Alyx, make them your next big purchase.

Half Life Alyx is literally 70% of the reason I decided to try and snag a 3080 at launch for my new build. The other 30% is Cyberpunk but have since realised I'll be able to play Cyberpunk to a decent level with a 1660 Super.

I finished Alyx with my OG Vive, great game and looked good but should have my new Reverb G2 in a couple of weeks all being well, should look great on that from the through the Lens vids we have seen.

Any news at all about the ASUS TUF OC 3080's? Surely they can't make us wait until next year, did Samsung's factory get robbed or something?
Mine arrived from OcUK last week along with the Watchdogs legion and nvidia code, so stock is arriving, I was position number 3.

I will say that card runs extremely cool, even under heavy benchmarking load, I only managed 61 degrees of heat even with an extra overclock of 60 on the core and 750mhz on the memory.

well i dropped really lucky today. my bros mate for some reason ordered 2 zotac 3080 trinity cards. he let me have the 2nd one for £750. It cost him £710 from overclockers. It might not be the strix non oc i was after but dam it beats wating till January. got a nice 15 fps bump in totalwarhammer 2 and control runs everything at 60+ both in 2160.the fans are a little bit louder then i hoped for but sod it i can always game with me headphones on xD

good luck to all wating for their cards this launch has been rather painfull....!

Glad you got it and it's good to know that it's running cool and can overclock a little! Unfortunately I ordered it on Nov 3rd and I joined the line at position 1181 as of Friday lol. I'm praying that ASUS can somehow just clear OCUK's backlog before New Year.

It's exactly the same card as the OC version but just with a different bios, since the OC version commands a higher price then it makes sense for Asus to prioritise these until stocks stabilise.

if you aiming for 1080p then sure, the specs given were for 1080p..

only news we've got relates to how many people have cancelled their orders, provided in every Friday update email. Gibbo does not updates Asus lol
