*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Mine arrived from OcUK last week along with the Watchdogs legion and nvidia code, so stock is arriving, I was position number 3.

I will say that card runs extremely cool, even under heavy benchmarking load, I only managed 61 degrees of heat even with an extra overclock of 60 on the core and 750mhz on the memory.

That's awesome to hear. I ordered the same card as you. I'm position 1237 as of Friday, ordered on that day. I really can't wait to boot up Alyx

Been testing my PNY 3080 today, and its been great, excellent cooling. idle temp at 34 degrees and load at 4K gaming 67 degrees, and the noise level are low, cannot hear it through my Define S2 Vision Blackout case. i was a bit sceptical with this make but after a day of gaming well pleased.

Nice to hear, hope mine will be here soon with any luck.

So I got my online order in on the ASUS RTX 3080 ROG STRIX GAMING OC on the first day of preorder about half an hour after it became available, and I'm still 129 in the queue. I was 175 in the queue on 2nd October. Are there seriously almost no ASUS ROG OC cards being delivered to Overclockers?
At this rate I'll be getting a 6800XT or 6900 before this order even appears on the horizon.:(

Does anyone know what the review embargo date is for the RDNA2 cards out of interest? Right now I'm trying to get my hands on a 3080 FE (missed the Friday drop by like 30 seconds :( ). I'm assuming the RDNA2 cards will sell out quickly, as everything else is right now, but I don't want to drop that kind of money without independent reviews being available.

I doubt reviews will help much, performance will probably be what they said, features will be promised for the future, the press will be told they are reviewing based on a driver that will be updated on launch day. Very much doubt you will find out much more other than thermals/power that you don't know already.

Thanks.

I've always preferred nvidia cards, mainly due to their drivers tending to be superior in my experience. Guess I'll carry on camping the various channels hoping to snag a UK FE drop of the 3080, then if I have no success by the 6800 XT launch, maybe take the risk, dunno.

Then again, I'm running an RTX 2070 at 1440p 144Hz, so really I don't need to upgrade anyway. Urgh :P

You'll have more luck trying for a 3070 as there were far more of those in the last drop - probably a more sensible upgrade for you too

My only complaint is the 3070 is a ~50-60% increase in performance from what I have. For the extra £200, a 3080 is basically a 90-100% increase. It makes the 3070 feel a little lacklustre and less future proof. I do see your point though.

Well I guess the way I would look at it is if you assume you'd get say £200 back for your old card on ebay. That would mean £270 is giving you 50% more frames and makes everything playable at 60fps+ even with fancy raytracing etc.

It costs another £180 on top of that to turn those 60fps titles to 80fps. Which is quite a lot when put in those terms and a decent chunk towards a 4070.

How can we petition @Gibbo to post up a table summarizing total back orders and numbers shipped so far for each 3080 model? It would certainly give me faith if they show they compare well to the other retailers who've got running totals.

well i dropped really lucky today. my bros mate for some reason ordered 2 zotac 3080 trinity cards. he let me have the 2nd one for £750. It cost him £710 from overclockers. It might not be the strix non oc i was after but dam it beats wating till January. got a nice 15 fps bump in totalwarhammer 2 and control runs everything at 60+ both in 2160.the fans are a little bit louder then i hoped for but sod it i can always game with me headphones on xD

good luck to all wating for their cards this launch has been rather painfull....!

there 3080 trinity que was 50, OCUK received over 50 cards a few days ago, i think the trinitys are founders edition boards with aftermarkets coolers?

so ppl who ordered the trinity cards are not waiting long at all
