So they just have us buyers deep in ....

To be fair, look at the date on my forums account - I've been buying stuff from OcUK for well over 20 years. Vega 56 pre-order worked like a dream. Customer service with a faulty MSI card before that was sorted efficiently when MSI were messing me around.

A bit of loyalty gets you so far, but even I'm starting to feel tested at the moment.

I'm not angry, just disappointed. :D

Where is that from? Wasn't aware of that. Not bothered anyway as I doubt it would be free next day. Which is what I got. I hate waiting for packages. Always rather use DPD next day.

On other notes. For anyone who cares about EVGA seeing a few people who purchased the EVGA 3080, 3090s of competitor. Been getting them this week.
https://twitter.com/GameMovieEnter1/status/1314374165735059456?s=19 so I guess EVGA has been shipping them at least to EU hopefully for you EVGA guys start to get them in OCUK soon.

Yeah, taking all the money at the point of order is a tad distasteful when there's backorders for months and the stock shortage situation wasn't known at the point of order.

For example assuming they actually ship me a card in late November, they'll have had the money sat in their account for probably three months by the time they settle the bill with the distributor/manufacturer.

Other retailers, eg Amazon may well reserve the funds but will only take payment at the point of dispatch. At which point it shows up on the bill and the payment clock starts ticking.
That's because bigger retailers like Amazon are aware that if you decide to give up on the order between order time and dispatch - even if it takes few months - they will get rid of the stock they order for you without issues or return it to manufacturrer without any problems.

None for sale from OC not on their page though or elsewhere.

The image of your Queue position is from 29Sep like everybody else so any gone out before then are not in Queue obviously.

Personally I prefer they take the money now than later. I know I can afford having the money taken from my account just now. I don't know for sure what my finances will be like in a month's time and would rather £800 doesn't randomly disappear from my balance whenever they decide to ship my order as that would completely screw up my budgeting for the month.

I don't personally see any issue with the money being in "their account" for a few months. In my mind, I've made the purchase and paid for it. It's reassuring to know I can cancel at any time and get it back if I need to, but whether the money is in my account ready to be taken by OCUK or sitting in their account is neither here nor there for me.

Besides, if it means they can ship stock faster knowing whoever they're shipping to has already paid rather than having to wait for payment to clear, and making sure whoever they're billing still has the funds etc. then that can only be a plus for me.

That's fine, I can see your point. Opinions may differ. :D

I'm using a Credit Card for the protections. Not everyone can clear it straight away.
