*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Thank you for your honest reply. I'm not angry, just disappointed. I had booked a week off work. I think it would be in my best interest to cancel my order and buy a 2080ti. thanks
Better trying for a 3070 at the end of the Month when Nvidia 'claim' there will be better stock levels.

Just shows the laziness of this outfit, he is posting 3090 updates in the 3080 thread, it shows they cannot cope with the take ahead of them
That is just the general update thread now. I guess they could edit the title to 30 Series rather than 3080 (mod team, are you allowed to edit OC Staff's posts?), but it wouldn't really make any difference.

It is true, I was 75th in the queue, the update was we are receiving an OK amount of Ventus, a day later I got my updated queue position. Have you checked your junk email?
I am in this queue checked spam etc...Nobody there received an update and it looks like cards were shipped albeit less than 5 it would seem. I am happy to wait patiently however!; as they are sitting on 750 of my pounds for a pre-order an e-mail after shipping of cards in my queue is the LEAST they can do after promising this in my queue position e-mail...

So what you are confirming is my statement is not untrue and I was correct.

Emails are going out to update queue positions once your brand of card has been shipped, it is probably a manual process so some maybe have been missed.

What I was trying to do was get in the middle of the argument to make clear that you are both partly right, some queues got emails, but definately the Zotac Trinity OC, and possibly the Gigabyte Gaming OC, didn't, and it looked like the two of you were just going to spiral with "they are being sent!", "no they aren't", "I got one", "I didn't" till we actually all got cards.

All our cards are still only shipping in small numbers, but there are weekly shipments. I'm doing my best to keep you all informed but I warn you all now you will be disappointed with some of my answers.
Thanks for the update, I would rather have my expectations managed with disappointing news than be frustrated by lack thereof...

The more worrying part is the fact last time we had a "small" announcement it was 4 cards!!! todays announcement is not even "small" it's a "very small" amount.

I think the "small" number of TUF OCs was "small" if you counted both 3080s and 3090s. And the "small" amount shipped I guess was small when averaged over all types of card he mentioned in one sentence?

Honestly I'm starting to suspect they often only know rough numbers before they recieved the order.

We all use the word stock, but lets be clear they have no stock. stock = inventory and what we have purchased is a promise for inventory when it arrives not sure why we have paid the full price though people would be much less jittery if we had paid a deposit and had the option to look elsewhere whilst waiting. But overclockers have taken that choice away.

There's a world wide shortage of PCBs which might well accountable.
I'd love to see nvidia say this tbh. They've even gone and said its NOT a supply problem. Yep i thought that was funny too :D

I can still buy FR4 PCB in decent numbers and the price hasn't even changed. JLCPCB.com aren't reporting any lead time issues either. Sure a lot of plants are working on 5g but there's still tons that are just doing what they've always done. I can't see nvidia dropping the ball on this. The whole issue kind of feels "man-made". Whether that's because of poor choices (which i suspect is the case) or outside factors idk.
Exactly why OC should be sending an email to EVERYBODY each week. I'd like to see all cards status on the email but i'd settle for just seeing a queue update email each week to know they've not forgotten about us :P - 2-3 or probably even going to be 4 weeks on the eagle between updates is not acceptable

But hold on they are breaking every law going they taking
Not all that surprising, they will obviously keep some back. I bet some people will order one of these for the 3080 :p
They cannot keep any back if a customer has paid for it it is essentially the customers card they are using to make more money. So that is the problem with taking cash upfront though is it not ? surely any stock landing belongs to the customer and no oc's to do as they please.
