*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

But hold on they are breaking every law going they taking

They cannot keep any back if a customer has paid for it it is essentially the customers card they are using to make more money. So that is the problem with taking cash upfront though is it not ? surely any stock landing belongs to the customer and no oc's to do as they please.

Wrong

You could cancel and order from somewhere else...

I wonder how many units were actually available at launch and how many were vacuumed up in the first few seconds? While OCuk are getting some flack from us, the punter - and deservedly so as that comes with retail I'm afraid, you gotta ask, wtf were Nvidia playing at? Panic? Greed? Ineptitude? All 3 and more me thinks.

I'd seriously hope anyone who ordered a prebuilt now would go straight to the back of the respective 3080 queue. I wouldn't be surprised if not though. Tbh, everything seems to be more bad news.

Wrong. The cards received are without packaging and for pre-builds, so they are a separate product

Could be worse, a competitor has yet to list any cards as available, but has prebuilt systems with said cards listed as in stock.

I wonder what the manufactures or wholesalers (or who ever Overclockers buys their cards from) think about overclockers still taking pre-orders when everyone else isn't. I mean, it's a bit of a bellow the belt way to try and mop up the whole market. I doubt Overclockers carry enough weight in the market to call the shots so I wouldn't be surprised if a few of the other large retailers get together to put pressure on wholesalers to not supply Overclockers with the number pre-orders they have managed to mop up! In which case we might be standing in a very long queue that is dead now and will continue to be dead even when cards start shipping!!!

explain why that is wrong then instead of just saying wrong like some kind of ignoranus. Because how can it be right that i can buy that system now and jump the cue on 2000 other people ?
Morally wrong i'd say. We don't know the facts. IF they're getting the cards we're in the queue for and it was proven there would be uproar. As has been said before bulk OEM cards could be being used but given shortages its equally possible they're using fully packaged cards. They aren't going to confirm either way.

yes this competitor closed off pre-orders when they didn't have the stock to fullfil. they chose to keep some stock behind for pre-builds. smart choice for them really. at least they're not leaving people hanging on a queue number :)
