*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

It's like I have to explain how it works all the time, any shipements that were recent, were shipments from China "BEFORE" the holiday, there is obviously a lag between shipping out and recipient, so over this week or so we are in that lag from the Chinese holiday.
I am aware of how it works. The fact is that there has been very little supply from OCUK and much more from other vendors, over many weeks.
The bottleneck is the foundry in Korea, not the assembly in China. There is enough capacity in china, even during their holidays to cope with the minimal Samsung supply.
Thus delays nothing to do with china's golden week.

If you are 'at the checkout' then you haven't bought it yet...

There are rules about shelf-edge labelling and EPOS checkouts at self-service stores, but that doesn't apply to online ordering systems.

Once you have accepted the price shown at the final checkout online and paid then yes, the price can't change between the last displayed price and what they actually charge you.

From the UK sales of goods act.

It is against the law for a trader to deliberately give misleading or wrong prices, and they can be prosecuted for doing this.
However, if the price of a product is just simply wrongly labelled you don't automatically get to buy it for that price. For example, if a TV worth £599 has accidentally been labelled as £5.99 you don't, unfortunately, have a right to buy it for £5.99.

People confirmed (in this very forum) that they received Gigabyte Gaming OC yet nobody got the email. Can you stop saying things as if they were facts when you have no idea if they actually are?
I am waiting for the Gaming OC and I didn't get an update when they shipped some last week, or was it the week before, Oh god I am losing track of time wasting my life away watching this forum!

My perspective is don't sell something with an ETA if that ETA is b*******. Not everyone here had an ETA when they purchased the item but for those of us that did it's reasonable to get annoyed when that date flies by and the only direct response is....it's golden week. I don't care about golden week, that's how the sausage is made. I don't order a hat having knowledge of how the hat is made.

Sell what you know you can supply.

I know, I can cancel. The fact is it's now harder for me to find another source because I relied on an ETA.

BEST PRACTICE FROM A COMPETITOR:

"09/10/20 - The Expected MSI RTX 3090 shipment has arrived. We will be shipping these out to customers today. We have been informed by ASUS that we can expect a delivery of RTX 3090 next week, and have added this to the table. As there are no further updates on deliveries for this week the next FAQ page update will be on Monday 12th October. Thank you for your patience and support."

At some point OcUK will admit they got this wrong and amend their ways surely?

If i get banned for sharing this quote, its been emnotional.

If you get banned for sharing that its a joke. Your only highlighting how professionally others have treated their customers. You cant even compare that to .. we have an ok amount coming in this week.

You won't get banned for that as it doesn't mention any competitors etc ;)

You won’t get banned because you didn’t mention where it came from ;).

I happen to agree, there needs to be a more transparent level of communication and that’s really the minimum I’d expect.

a "very small" number of days.

Ha, love it. :D

I don't think it's unreasonable for us to be asking for estimates. I know some people will use an estimate and scream bloody murder if they don't receive it by then as if it's set in stone, but the fact is we've had no information at all with even the vaguest of guesses when we'll receive the items we ordered - not even saying if it'll be in 2020.
