*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

The 3070 slaughter order day at 2pm will be a lol. Can’t wait to watch the mayhem and its very own 3070 thread. Nvidia better sort it out fast cos AMD looming...

Yeah, let's just take millions of pounds from people and tell them we don't know. Cause that's how business is done. Lol. I have a bridge to sell you... Smh
Everyone here can take theirs money's back and go somewhere else if they feel cheated. I'f id feel cheated id ring up and have a good go at anybody that would answer he would hang up then id call 2 -3 more times and go SOMEWHERE ELSE

Ain't ocuk to blame, NVIDIA is not shipping near enough chips, 3070 gonna be the same.

Danish retailer received 86 GeForce RTX 3070 graphics cards in 12 days

Well at least Nvidia aren't just sacrificing 3080 production to save the blushes on the lower order higher volume cards, which I feared they might do.

So far everyone is using AMD scare tactics. One thing stays in question will AMD have stock ?? Seems everyone forgotten that AMD is uning tsmc 7nm FOR
PS5
NEW XBOX
Zen3
Epyc
Threadripper
Laptops

Basically for EVERYTHING. And I'm 1000% sure CPUs and Consoles have priority over barely alive GPU department.

I think the best course of action is give OCUK some work to do, seeing as they are so quiet ATM. Everyone, despite queue position, should initiate a refund, all at the same time, and this should keep them busy for a long period, all the while, teaching these greedy ******* a lesson about good business practice and customer care. Let's be honest, it would be worth more than getting an actual card :)

Suggest buying glasses besides 3080 if you cant see Pinned thread

I liked it when you were banned :)

Right, but a lot (most?) of us are fine with that. There's thousands of people still in the queue because while it has downsides like lack of information and taking payment up front, it has the upside that we'll all get our cards faster than 99% of everyone else.

The problem is the downsides are felt now but the upside is only felt at the end. If you stay in a queue and you get your card in nov/dec for example then you're going to be happy you got yours while millions of gamers will still be waiting for their cards well into 2021.

If that trade off is not worth it for you then cancel, it's that simple. If your'e going to stick with your preorder you'll have to come to accept that there's very little information on ETAs because the cards havn't even finished being built yet. The answer is we don't know for sure, it's not OCUK trying to p*ss in your cornflakes for the hell of it, they genuinely lack decent information themselves, as ALL the retailers do. If there was another retailer offering perfect insight and we could compare the 2 and OCUK was behind then maybe we could justify the moaning, but that's just not true.

There's no better alternative here, shy why moan about the best service you can get? Yes it sucks, we all get that but it's not a shortage that OCUK created.
yep everyone is free to cancel. lose their place in the queue and have nothing whilst possibly getting lucky elsewhere. You're right its their option but its not really an option if you want the card and OC are using that to keep customers locked in.

i know there's very little information but multiple smaller companies managed to give me etas. now i don't know if they're rubbish or not but they sounded genuine enough for me to part with my money and order from one of them. I ordered last week and they have told me i'll receive my order middle of next month. If this is true and i receive my card then that tells me that either OCUK has no worthy connections and is begging for scraps whilst others actually know what they're getting and are happy to share if you ask. Taking orders when you're bottom of the pile with distributors is unlikely to end well.

I've said it before and ill say it again ;) - OC are not to blame for the shortages but they are to blame for lack of aftersales service/comms. Every other retailer has handled the same situation so much better. OC will have to have a cracking deal and be hugely cheaper to have any chance of me returning after this fiasco. It could have been their time to shine but they've stuck their heads in the sand and are letting everybody draw their own conclusions :(

Not so clear how they're being greedy. They've taken preorders at prices that are now below retail and are honouring those prices. Leading to a reduced margin and potentially losses.

What!? Are you on the same planet? Yeah, they are honouring those prices, building up a large stack of cash, but not honouring the goods!

a couple of questions :)

The ETAs were just that. I find it odd that they managed to increase the price yet "forgot/couldn't" remove the inaccurate stock estimate.

I think it was removed pretty fast, I mean the entire site was going down constantly all day during launch day because of the extreme number of people hitting the page trying to order.

Are you getting your card as fast as possible? or just a fast as possible for OC after they've fulfilled pre-builds, staff orders, let people push in etc etc. Are other people who ordered later elsewhere getting it faster?

There's no evidence so far that they've given pre-builds priority, there has been prebuilts ordered they've admitted this, but have confirmed that prebuilds that contain these cards are queued also. Staff orders, I dunno probably staff got first pick, I couldn't care less about the handful of people that work for OCUK even if this did happen, a few card does not matter to a queue of thousands. Are cards elsewhere getting faster? No the evidence so far is that for most of the popular brands the queues are falling at about the same rate, it's something you can track with some competitors (and I have). They're all fullfilling their preorder queues prior to making them generally available which is why there's zero stock anywhere and wont be for months until the queues clear.

I'm going to (like most) stay in the queue because who doesn't like options and if we have the funds to place multiple orders and hedge our bets then why not :)

Same, most people that are ordering these kind of cards shouldn't have problem either ordering one and potentially ordering another if another source opens up. Even if you're ordering the card and you're broke (dunno why you'd do this) you can still easily get cheap credit to cover a few months of waiting.

Yes a refund is possible. Unfortunately after you have been guided/tricked into purchasing a particular product its quite difficult to do anything and the refund option puts you right at the back of the queue for anything else.

Which is why refunding is a bad idea and where queues that guarantee you a position are a good idea. OCUK don't get any benefit from "tricking" people, that's not what happened here. In a perfect world the ETAs would be accurate or they'd come down from the store page as soon as the queue exceeded pre-order stock. But the reality is that most of us just want our cards as fast as possible and if the ETA was now or reaslitic and said something like ETA December, it's unlikely your decision would be any different.[/QUOTE]

There are multiple competitors providing better up-to-date information to customers with more transparency, easy to access, and reliable updates. This isn't the best service we could get and people are justified complaining about the comms situation.
They're just not justified complaining they don't have a card yet.

I can't ask/say who but I'm tracking all the competitors who give out public info on their preorders and no they're not giving better updates. They're at best vague guesses which have been constantly revised over time because they were wrong. And right this moment they have no more information on future orders as they're all TBC. There's no more reliable data there than what Gibbo has posted in the update thread.

People seem to imagine that Gibbo has magical foresight so he knows with no external sources some secret panacea of information that he could divulge and put us all out of our misery but won't because he's too busy laughing at our suffering behind our backs. He doesn't know, the competitors don't know, stock production is tiny shipments are tiny and irregular and have very little pattern to them, there's not enough information to give accurate ETAs. This weird conspiracy has started to build up around this which is that actually people do know but they just want to p*ss off a load of their customers, because reasons...

And who's going to pay back the interest on my credit card which I already paid off?

Some proper brown nosers I hope.

It looks like I'll repay the card before I got it ✅

Agree! You all cancel your pre orders and I’ll finally get my card :D

What's with all the talk about foxcon? These GPU's were meant to be ready and available on the 17th September.

Nvidia clearly didn't make any. One big myth to rob eveyone if you ask me.
This myth will be busted once and for all when AMD will release their NAVI in November. If availability of AMD's cards will be greater than Ampere then you can be certain that NV and Samsung "wonderful" node is culprit. They spent months on adjusting it to improve yields and parameters and it backfired. Low yeilds combined with huge chips with avarege parameters (perf/W and frequency compared to alleged frequency and power efficiency of Navi 2X).

You can't cut out a lot of chip out of 300mm2 or 450mm2 diameter wafer if the die size itself measures ~~600mm2+

Estimate for GA102:

Estimate for Navi 10

Doesn't include transistor density (Intel, Samsung, TSMC and GloFo has diffrent) and implication of using EUV (I believe that Sammy 8nm is EUV) vs DUV, and the fact that 8nm was intended for low power (plus) chips so anyone can take this with a grain of salt.
