And who's going to pay back the interest on my credit card which I already paid off?
Some proper brown nosers I hope.
It looks like I'll repay the card before I got it
Unfortunately your choice of payment is that, your choice. Nobody has any liability for that other than you as you chose to use that method of payment.
I think its wrong that OC are holding peoples money but they're not responsible for any interest you owe. You made that commitment when you purchased the card. You will at some point get the card and the interest you paid identical whether you got it now or later
I think it was removed pretty fast, I mean the entire site was going down constantly all day during launch day because of the extreme number of people hitting the page trying to order.
They managed to adjust price northwards quite easily between crashes i thought. They should have removed ETAs at the same time. When i ordered the price had already increased yet the ETA was still there. I'm sure this was more than an oversight tbh.
There's no evidence so far that they've given pre-builds priority, there has been prebuilts ordered they've admitted this, but have confirmed that prebuilds that contain these cards are queued also. Staff orders, I dunno probably staff got first pick, I couldn't care less about the handful of people that work for OCUK even if this did happen, a few card does not matter to a queue of thousands. Are cards elsewhere getting faster? No the evidence so far is that for most of the popular brands the queues are falling at about the same rate, it's something you can track with some competitors (and I have). They're all fullfilling their preorder queues prior to making them generally available which is why there's zero stock anywhere and wont be for months until the queues clear.
There's plenty of evidence they're giving pre-builds priority. There's the fact that builds have been dispatched. I know of a couple that people have ordered purely for the gpu and they received within a week despite ordering after the 17th. They have received the card much quicker.
Some people say its oem stock yet OC offer the boxes so this theory is out the window too.
There's the lack of clarity and numbers that don't add up when cards do come in.
Finally, one of the mods has confirmed he "thought" it was the same stock and was split. This suggests a seperate, shorter queue for pre-builds.
There's more money in it for OC if they sell a pre-build. Its not fair on us but for a business its a no brainer from a purely financial point of view.
I agree that morally its wrong and that OC are alienating regular customers doing this but their MO appears to be greed and short term gain without much long term thinking. That is their choice and nothing wrong with that. A lot of us will be voting with our wallets after the dust settles
