*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

It's not a preorder that would have an ETA like the LianLi UNI fans I have on order they have an ETA of 22/10/20.
OCUK clearly know what they are doing by giving as little information as possible. Not everyone is clued up on the state of 30 series cards.
The fact that no staff monitor this forum show how little they care what their customers think. It's all about the money.
It's a strange practice to build up a good customer base over the years with healthy google reviews to then see that plummet over a singular item and lose many loyal customers. Maybe they have so many they don't care.
"Maybe they have so many they don't care." Id take away Maybe. I always look at it this way. Other stores dont even have a forums for users....

Think remembering socialistic Poland gave me waiting skill.
Remember going to store with mum and there was NOTHING literary NOTHING.
People can Laugh but back then you had to PREORDER MEAT
Old comedy did parody of the situation. That moment when chicks hands over meat from under the counter and its not even store that seals it.

Worry not im on watch months now get phone check's quite often. Only got bad and even worse days. Everything is planned if i leave fot 2 people with acces to my ocuk account to post my ferwell note here dont like leaving lose ends.

Hey man I got some health problems too been stuck in bed a lot. and this lockdown hasn't been good like you said with appointments cancelled etc.
Don't go down that path though man try to keep battling on forward

Thank god, another sane person.

If it helps people I could set up an automated email which checks for updates from Gibbo and all the days he doesn't get one it simply emails you to say there's been no change yet. Better yet I can let you pick the frequency so you can have them sent every hour, that way you can not be moving in the queue, but now in high resolution :D

Would it be like the automated trustpilot responder :P

For me it feels like OC have left us here in this dungeon to rot lmao. A bit of engagement from the likes of gibbo or other upper management would help even if it was just to show they are batting for us and are on the case. Right now it feels like they're in it for themselves and the people that gave them money are no longer important. I know thats wrong..probably but thats the perception OC is creating. They have a lot of money and can't make the time to engage on here.

The sad thing is. If they made more effort their trustpilot would look loads better, people wouldn't be cancelling like its going out of fashion and people wouldn't be constantly taking up customer service's time with the same old questions.

An update at the end of each day would make things so much easier for OC even if there hasn't been much movement imho.

I'm 150 in the OC queue despite pre-ordering as soon as possible, and I don't mind. Life is what it is. Sometimes you get a **** Sandwich and sometimes you get Jaffa Cakes.
Am I disappointed with NVidia? That would be expressing my feelings mildly.
Is this anyone else's fault? Yes, the other licensed GPU manufacturers for not jumping on NVidia's balls for not being clear about the importance of components, and of the standard of drivers being used for test, and NVidia and the licensed manufacturers for not looking at the size of preorder interest and adjusting accordingly.
But in the big scheme of things? I'm fine with my old RX580 Saphire Nitro+ 8GB DDR5 card, even if it is a little bit antiquated. I play games for fun and I got a nice bonus recently, so I just wanted to enjoy being a Frame rate/ultra graphics ho for a bit. I probably wont replace my 3080, when I get it, for at least 2 or 3 years. Just chill and enjoy the fact that you will be getting an amazing card at a damn reasonable price compared the 20series NVidia cards.

Its purely Nvidias fault not the AIB's
Nvidia are quite clear on the specs of the PCB also so I dunno where you got that from
It's a shortage of Chips from NVidia

Let's be real - this isn't a preorder...

Definition of preorder
transitive + intransitive
: to order (something) in advance : to request to purchase (something) before it is available for sale.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/preorder

The cards were released on the 17/09/20. What we are doing is sitting in a backlog queue. It's wrong that e-tailers are using this term.

Well there's some ambiguity in the idea of "available". I would argue that the 3080's are not available because there's no current stock. If you use the other definition of "available" which is to suggest some release date has passed then it doesn't make any sense. Because you'd be arguing that you're buying before you're able to buy it. What they share in common is that you put the money down before the product is ready to ship and can cancel it before it's available.

It's all semantics anyway, if the release date has gone by and the site lists "pre-order" we all know what that means.

Only people that been dealing with NHS for Years understand this. Two weeks ago i'w spent 9 hours at A&E after another thing broke just to get bottle of morphine and hear sorry you need to proceed with GP with the matter. Every time they give me any little hope just get totally mentally destroyed after. As said above ordered this 3080 to have anything to look forward to. I got back in to Gaming cause it was last thing id could somewhat still enjoy but had to pack up playing Wow with mates of 15 years cause im no good anymore just feeling like dead weight with anything i want to do.

If i ever/eventually get this 3080 ill do some mods to it just to have more fun out of it. Want to make custom PSU direct to PCB power connector to scrap the crappy gigabyte solution and show people how to do it. Shunt resistor mod on gigabyte cause not seen one done ect Ofc Watercool it and so on.

Like I said earlier, a response from OCUK to let all know the situation, whether good or bad, perhaps even an apology, would have went a long way in appeasing the situation, instead of deadly silence. That is what gets folk backs up. :)

There appears to be even less stock now post Golden week than there has been since the 'launch', instead of the situation getting better it's getting worse.

Just because they can't meet demand doesn't make it a pre-order.
