*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

There appears to be even less stock now post Golden week than there has been since the 'launch', instead of the situation getting better it's getting worse.

From what I've read the lack of commercial flights is making air freight more expensive and harder to get as a load of piggybacked on commercial. Which means shipping is used more, and that's no where near as fast. I don't think the Golden week drop in manufacturing hit immediately I reckon it's probably hitting around now and will likely span 2 weeks. It was 8 days if I remember correctly so with weekends it's closer to probably 10 days or something like that. I mean it's all a hot mess.

Either way this fabled ramp up in production should start to hit us at the end of Oct and start of Nov, the problem isn't just a delay in orders but the fact that barely any units ship even when there is a delivery.

What the hell is going on here? Why are people so upset that they haven't got their card yet? I'm patiently waiting for my 3080, I'm angry at Nvidia for not handling their stock better, but that's life. Suck it up, buttercup, stop pretending like this is suicide inducing, we're all literally here to play games. Every retailer in the world is as limited as OCUK is, suggesting that any of this mess is their fault is insanity. If so, you'll also have to explain why the other thousands of retailers are suffering the same issues. Just stop being so dramatic lmao, it's a god damn PC component. Yes, you've spent a lot of money on it, but OCUK can't magic cards out of thin air

Another brown noser. Clearly this is OC fault. No other retailer that I am aware of frequents a forum bigging up their buying power so that people then will order through them rather than elsewhere. That's the line I fell for. And so did others. I use many sites and not one of them has duped buyers as OC has done on this launch

If only people could realise that Nvidia hasn't took 1 penny of our money, so blaming Nvidia or AIBs is wrong. Our contract of sale is with OC for them to supply, taking the orders when they couldn't tell when it could be fulfilled is wholly on OC.

Asus only sending OC versions. Where have I seen that before? I bet there's zero binning, purely choosing to release every chip they've got via the premium model.

Ironic that Nvidia and CD Projekt Red's collaboration was premature - now Nvidia are going to shaft a lot of gamers who are going to have to wait longer to play the game if they want to do so on their intended hardware.

Thats a bit unfair. My friend has a zotac atm with a strix hopefully coming in november. I also have multiple orders elsewhere. If we decide to sell on and get a few quid for our efforts then whats the problem. Nobody is being scammed if they pay a price they're happy with and get the item they expect. I suggest you research the term scam :p

The post was a reply to someone who was crowing that they'd bought 5 of the Founder's Edition in today's batch with the aim of reselling them. This despite it being one per customer so he ordered to 5 different addresses to scam around it. (Hope he didn't have 5 separate credit cards to pay with though and they cancel the extra orders!)

This is a different scenario to getting whatever card you can get your hands on now, and then trading to what you want after (which is what I presume you're mate is looking at wrt the Zotac and the Strix). There was a window where this was possible for me as I had an order elsewhere, but wasn't sure if it would go through so ordered here as well. Nothing wrong ordering multiple places and hedging your bets. I'm still F5-ing to get one sooner!

Next time a company flaunts its partnerships I will endeavour to check their accounts filed with the Companies House first to compare their purchasing power with a competitor... My fault for messing up F5 but it does speak volumes that overclockers is keeping pre orders open despite having absolutely zero stock.

Interestingly, a competitor I've got alerts for has just dropped the price of the OC TUF to 689 - but kept the non-OC at 720.

Wonder if that's any indication of how incoming stock is looking between the two cards? If I could snatch the OC variant for 30 less than my non-OC and wave goodbye to OCUK in one button press it'll be a great day...

For me it feels like OC have left us here in this dungeon to rot lmao. A bit of engagement from the likes of gibbo or other upper management would help even if it was just to show they are batting for us and are on the case.
<snip>

Unfortunately he's too busy posting in the GD Stock Market thread and "Show Us Your Motors" about his S2000 to make an update to his stock thread. With respect, he can't be that busy if he can post in there.

Here's the statement by Jensen Huang a couple of weeks ago:

“Even if we knew about all the demand, I don’t think it’s possible to have ramped that fast,” Huang said. “We’re ramping really really hard. Yields are great, the product’s shipping fantastically, it’s just getting sold out instantly.” Nvidia has apologized for the launch of the RTX 3080 and the limited supply of the cards

"the product’s shipping fantastically" If that's true where are they shipping it to? If Air freight is expensive, and given the issues a couple of years ago with Nvidia losing business in the trade war with China, then are these cards ending up in the Far East markets instead of being shipped into the USA and Europe ?
