*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

With all these rumors going around I'm starting to feel like there's gonna be trouble with the non OC TUF orders. Wonder if the silence is just them trying to figure out how to deal with this situation. Surely if everything was fine at least some cards would be getting shipped out? But there's been nothing going on for a month now. This one's on ASUS...

My scepticism is growing too. That 3070 supply list showed all OCs arriving as well.

I don't know whether I should laugh or cry with OcUK.

I ordered another Asus card with another e-tailer on Saturday. Today I received an email from them where they listed all the 30 series cards they sell complete with estimates of when they are expecting the first shipments and for the Asus cards, the estimated dates for the second shipment also. I also spoke to them on the phone and they told me where I am inline for the card I ordered and which shipment my card is in. So now I know my place in line (a single-digit figure for the shipment) on a card I only ordered 2 days ago.

Compare that to OcUK. I ordered my card 2 days after launch. I've had 2 emails off them telling me my queue position (which is still in triple-digits, despite 120 cancelations for the card I ordered) and there has been ZERO communication regarding estimated shipment dates. On top of this we can see by the shipment tracker (a forum member created) - rough figures for cards OCuK have received/shipped out.... and it looks like they've received ZERO for the card I ordered, despite their claims of buying power with Nvidia.

With the above in mind - do you think I'll receive the first card I ordered or the second card first? Who am I most likely to order from again? I guess time will tell.
What did they tell you about Asus shipments?

I've had 3 separate PM's about where I placed my 2nd order. Please don't bother PM'ing me - this is a forum hosted by Overclockers, please have respect for that.

I'm not conspiracy-minded and I find the conspiracies here ridiculous, but Hanlon's Razor applies here fine - incompetence rather than malice.

That's true, a good rule of thumb I operate by. But in this case it presupposes that OCUK are the source of the problem in the first place and that it must either be incompetence or malice on their part. And most of the problem is with the manufacturing and supply chains causing huge waits, and the waits making people mad. So then mad customers conflict with customer service, there's not always a perfect route that leads to a happy and peaceful resolution.

It's actually quite funny because I've started looking at this whole situation almost like a hand holding thing, loads of gamers mad at the wait (understandably) and then trying to get some relief and trying to emotionally cope by bombarding customer service demanding updates. It's why I asked someone before what would an ideal customer service be like? One that would satisfy you, and that OCUK could actually deliver given the circumstances they're in.

Basically at this point it's a giant cope, I think it'd just be easier to just get a therapist on the forums and have group therapy sessions. "Hi my name is Frosty, I'm a gamer and I ordered my 3080 on day 1 but it'm still waiting. I've been find it hard to cope of late and find myself getting irrationally angry, but I'm just taking it one day at a time."

Yes people are getting mad but even if its just a daily update saying "no new news regarding shipments or even if its just we have an currently unconfirmed amount being shipped by X due some time next month" its better than nothing since friday at this point.

But you can get that whenever you want. Go to the update thread, check for an update, if there are none then the status of the order is that there is no new information. It's just the presumption of guilt on OCUKs part that people think they must have more information than they really do and they're simply withholding it from us, that's almost certainly not true. There's a real kind of hand holding going on if you need an update from OCUK literally every single day saying "nothing has changed today", you can infer that from the lack of updates if you give them the benefit of the doubt that as soon as they know something they'll reflect it here.

I guess the real difference is that I trust that, as someone who co-owns a business I know business owners don't want to peeve off their customers and most people work really hard to make sure that doesn't happen. And that sometimes people who are mad cannot be reasoned with or satisfied.

no that’s a waste of time. If there’s no news there is no post needed. Quite simple really.

Me too :)

I'm so glad that I've snagged one. No more wasted hours, checking Twitter and threads, it's carthatic lol.

I'm keeping my order in with here for now, in case any issues with FE.

Fingers crossed to all those waiting, and again, props to the guy who posted on here earlier.

I just got my email too. Still hoping OCUK will pull their finger out and send my card, but at least I've got a 3090 as a fallback now lol

I'd agree normally, but on the Inno shipment we were told they would ship late last week, or early next, and yet there has been no update on the boards to say whether they shipped or they didn't. That might have been seen as a courtesy to at least put minds at ease, but there's been silence.
