This thread is for 3070Ti too. It was a toss up between the 3080 and 3070 so I'm hoping to get a 3070Ti from OcUK. I hope they use the method outlined earlier about linking to a secret page.
 
Fact remains though, how do you get the secret link to genuine members and not just scalpers with like 10 forum posts without posting it exclusively in MM? The logistics of actually making the sale are only part of the issue they face.

Where are you based? I'm guessing it's not the UK as there would be potential data protection issues with receiving and storing information like copies of driving licenses.

Problem is the voucher system and putting cards in another unrelated section of the shop are well known tactics in the wider community now and are now discussed on discord and social media. There are people actively watching for the latest deals and ready to spread the word.

The forum has had new members whose first post is when is the next voucher deal.

I believe the LHR cards will help by deterring the miners but unless stock improves scalpers will still be an issue.

Which is why I suggested a new method a few posts ago. It's a very tricky situation but you have to stay one step ahead of the scalpers by constantly changing the methods you use.

I know you posted "a new method". Something similar has already been discussed elsewhere.
You haven't seen the numerous posts by OC staff saying they don't have the manpower to phone lots of customers?

I also get the impression they don't want to create additional queues with the associated admin headaches.

Same issues as storing things like name, address and email and a copy of CCTV etc. Hassle more than issue.
 
Just have to have faith they can come up with something that gets around bots / scalpers for the most part and is actually feasible - at the end of the day we should be grateful they're trying to do something for us loyal / legit customers who want a card - they could have just as easily put the link live made their money and went to bed

I have seen those posts, my method is 1 call per sale, not 1000's of people calling up to buy one.
 
You're all fools. Clearly the best method to allocate scarce stock is a Call of Duty style gulag face off in the car park outside OCUK HQ. Two go in, one comes out with a graphics card. Allocation of one Taser per contest is by coin flip.

It's the only way. OCUK could make some cash by live streaming as well.
