3090 restocked today on nvidia, any 1 cop?

Yeah I snagged one. Totally shocked that on a random refresh the trolly appeared and it went through.
It's way overpriced for the small gain, but sick of waiting and trying every day wasting sooo much time, so get it and its done.....plus I have 30 days in which I can maybe snag a more friendly 3080.

Well reading the ASUS groups on Facebook it seems strix cards didn’t get shipped before holidays over there so mid November for large quantities. Small air freight shipments perhaps prior to that.

on the plus side they managed to get them to reviewers so we can all drool while we wait.

on more serious news, there are pallets and pallets of 3080 and 3090 land with retailers. One Dutch shop shared a photo of 100s and 100s of both cards that put Gibbos old pyramids to shame.

so hopefully all those who ordered tuf cards you should have long to wait. Strix buyers except the really early orders will have to wait until mid November. Lots of strix buyers not ver happy and kicking off at ASUs saying if they had been honest and said they weren’t even going to start making them until now, people would have bought other cards they could have got hold of.

So i started what i thought was a relevant thread but it was locked so asking here.

i know a lot say the 3090 is overkill in most cases but i am running 3 32” 1440p 144Hz monitors for sim racing.

so would i see the benefit of a 3090 over a 3080? My cpu is a i9-10850

You'll see some benefit, but not a great deal. If it's what you really want and you can afford it its worth it, just don't expect it to be that much faster than a 3080, despite the price.

Personally I am getting a 3080 for my home computer because I only use that for gaming, but for my workstation I will be picking up a 3090 in the not too distant future as I do a lot of 3d rendering and sometimes need 14-15gb for larger scenes, which at the minute I have to use the CPU to render so I can use ram instead of vram, which is much slower.

Im solely getting the 3090 for the Vram, with the new consoles, textures and more effects will only eat more (and bad ports). Running at 4k, DCS world maxed out my 2080ti vram, so does Post Scriptum and Squad, annoyingly ill never know until I get the card how much more it really wants but I guess will soon find out.

OK guys is this queue calculator talking rubbish or is the Google sheets as I have manually edited the Google sheet, and I am only 478 in my GPU but when I use the calculator it says 2216.

Google docs if for 3090.

Neither are particularly accurate but if you hang around until Monday I'll bet that the shop will be able to give you an up to date figure

Honestly, both are just guesstimates based on community information. I can't tell you which is more accurate without 100% inaccuracy.
