** NVIDIA GTX 1080 FOUNDERS EDITION: WANNA PRE-ORDER?

I still see the same people whinging about the price. If people pay for the FE, it is their money and choice and good luck to them I say. I personally will wait for the 8+6 pin custom cards, as I know a few others here will and that is our choice.

+1

It will be good to see some owners on these forums so the discussion can move on.

Or....

If people pay for the FE, they are telling Nvidia that those prices are perfectly acceptable and we can expect such price hike to stay and increase.

It affects ALL of us if people agree to price hikes. Not just those forking out the extra at the time.

Why don't people get that?

If they sell out at that price, you really think they will go back down in price next time? no chance, they will go up again and test us again. It's my DUTY to try and convince people not to pay this price. Otherwise we all (including me) pay more down the line. This affects those not buying the card too! Basic business.

Vote with your wallet then but leave other people so they can have the same choice.:)

Ive pointed out the price difference is 50 dollors

We paid $549 for a 980 on release this equates to £373

In the UK the cost was £480

So price has not changed

Next....

That's not true though. Someone posted the link in another thread as evidence, but you could get the 980 for just over £400 on release. Price then went UP as exchange rate tanked.

Exchange rate change has to be factored in with the 1080 of course, but anyone suggesting £620 is FAIR and in line with that needs to pop along to their local nursery school for some remedial maths lessons!

As mentioned above, that implies the cost of the FE and its success has ZERO bearing on two things... 1) the cost of AIB custom cards and 2) the cost of future cards, 1080Ti etc. To suggest the 1080 price exists in a vaccuum with no consequence on future prices is just daft and incredibly shortsighted. To dismiss this out of hand and say "it's a choice, deal with it" is tantamount to removing yourself from the discussion entirely, as you are essentially saying that you don't care at all about GPU prices now or ever. If that's the case, fair enough. If not, you simply come across as naive.
