** NVIDIA GTX 1080 FOUNDERS EDITION: WANNA PRE-ORDER?

And most of that is due to the exchange rate and the weak pound, not Nvidia.

If it was what it used to be would you be saying "OMG the 1080 is £400 and the 1080ti is going to be £500 and the gp100 will be £700!!!!!!!!!!!!" no you wouldnt.

Suck it up Britain, we have no buying power atm.

But, but, we are in Europe, I thought that gave us good buying power

Got to love good old blighty :o

We are everyone's suckers here...

EU is buggered and has just a bad exchange rate as us. Well almost. FE cards are £607 across Europe so we have lost out slightly by £12 or 2%.

And buying power was the wrong choice of words, I just meant with our current exchange rate, all imports are 50% more than they used to be.

Fools Edition :p

Previously @ Nvidia HQ....

Marketing "you know how the reference cards always come out first"
Boss "Uh huh"
Marketing "and never really sell incredibly well as everyone wants the improved aftermarket designs"
Boss "uh huh"
Marketing "why don't we call them the "founders edition" and pretend they're the superior cards, the version to buy, the premium option"
Boss "hmmmmmmmmmmmm"
Marketing "you know whack £50 on, rake in some early profit margins while the vendors potter about creating aftermarket heatsinks"
Boss "I like that. A lot."
Marketing "Founders Edition, sounds classy right"
Boss "Make it £100 surcharge, the punters will lap it up, oh and tell Asus to make it £130 surcharge LOLs"

Prices are up globally for this Card. America is complaining, Canada is complaining, Australian is complaining, India is complaining.

Sure the exchange rate doesn't help but total nonsense to blame the £620+ price on the exchange rate. nonsense.

All the complaints is about the $100 on the Founders edition, not about the normal edition being $50 up on last model.

Everybody is in agreement the FE is just wrong.
