** NVIDIA GTX 1080 FOUNDERS EDITION: WANNA PRE-ORDER?

Been waiting for these cards for a few months. I was prepared to front up the money for a £400-£500 card but when I saw these over £600 I was gobsmacked and gutted.

Maybe one day I will have a truly high end card :(

Congrats to those who are buying/bought the cards on fueling even higher price increases and funding fat cats more homes and more cars.

Typo by me I think it was around 2.175 but you need to watch the video again because he tried adding more power he down clocked the memory and pushed that voltage into the GPU with zero gain other than a non game stable clock of 2.2ghz

Yes and in the article he put it down to having insufficent power supply coming in and the circuitry on the FE board.

In fact you will see from the article that he got his max overclock when he dialed back the memory overclock but when he applied the power and overclocked the memory again, he had to settle on a lower overclock on the core.

Screams starvation of power to me.

card wasn't game stable when he fed it all that juice, its alright benching at 2ghz but its pretty useless if you cant game at that. that screams Overclock ceiling to me!!

EVGA seem to have the same view as they only have the 1 8pin power on their SC cards

All these leaks and no price's, very frustrating

Yeah, all my optimism from my earlier posts is gone now. Can't see these custom cards being cheaper than the FE's.

Might try and wait it out now. Not for the 1080ti, as this same silly pattern will probably occur again for that.

My hope now is after a month or maybe two if AMD have got their act together that will drive the price down a bit. The silly thing is prior to the first announcement I was prepared to spend up to £700 on a high-end card. And whilst anything will be a massive jump over my crossfired 280X's it doesn't really feel like this is economically fair. I'd have paid £700 for 1080ti performance at this point, but this doesn't seem right. Just feels like if I spend £650 I'm going to regret it very soon when they've dropped a good £100 or so.
