NVIDIA GTX 970 OWNERS THREAD

Are the MSI 970's actually going to be in stock today as per the ETA on the page? I want one but don't want my money tied up in an order if it isn't actually going to be there.

Sourced one elsewhere. Thanks anyway. :)

Would be interested to know if you can clock higher with the VRMs being passively cooled.

Hopefully it comes into stock today. Asus and Gigabyte have an ETA of next week.
I was just about to buy an Asus on Wednesday and they went from 10 in stock to sold out within 10, maybe 15 minutes.

What's up with the site checkout today? shipping option window isn't loading consistently and the checkout process has failed twice in a row for me. Luckily I wasn't charged twice (no order went through both times) but what's the issue?

If you want to swap call them.

If it has been dispatched then don't open the GPU box. Just request an RMA and bingo your done.

Nah, I don't mind getting either the MSI or Asus. They're both good quality from my experience with them.

It's just that the Asus was what I was going to get on Wed since MSI was out of stock but 10 minutes before I ordered, the Asus went out of stock.

So I pre-ordered the MSI that was set to come back into stock today while Asus was meant to be next week.

I should have held off ordering but I was worried that MSI would sell out out again before I got the chance.
I'd rather just know if the MSI is back in stock yet.

The heatsink was already fitted - it's stock.

I haven't tried pushing any further yet - waiting for a custom bios and to see if new drivers fix "the offset voltage in sli" bug.

That's what I meant sorry.

The HSF still blows over that area. Removing that means that although the stock VRM heatsink is still there, there is now no fan actively blowing over that area.

Any way you can measure the temps?

When gaming my VRMs tended to stay around the 70-80 mark.

Will be going to OCUK tomorrow to get my 970 with coil wine replaced and then fit the full cover water blocks to them when they check out ok :D

See how the cards react to cooler temps in terms of clock speed scaling.

I see.

I have a 120mm fan just out of the photo blowing over the ends of the cards. Peak temps when benching is 70c.
