Ah, sorry didn't look back far enough. So, this is looking a very good card indeed then! Overclocks very well it would seem. I'm still split though... how does this compare to the third party card/cooler options, especially as I'm in an NZXT H440 case which isn't the best for airflow. Single card though, no plans for SLI as yet.

In a small enclosure or in close proximity SLI then this offers the best cooling performance. :)

Am I right in saying however that the reference cards tend to run a bit hotter? Does that not mean more heat is emanating from the card therefore creating more heat in the case? Or is the blower design specifically designed to take all that heat out? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

They are designed to operate at 80c, so the card won't turn up fan RPM until 80c is reached.

Yes the NVIDIA cooler dumps all the hot air outside the case so in a small enclosure a 970 or 980 reference cooled card will run cooler as case ambient temperatures are lower. :)

I have 2 980 reference cards and there the best cards I've ever owned. These cards are great for smaller cases as it blows all hot air out the back of case. Temps are also amazing. If I was looking for a reference card I would buy these in a heart beat. Also you will not find a 970 titan cooler anywhere , but here. Nice exclusive here Gibbo :)

Yep we are getting emails worldwide from end users asking if we ship to their country.

Absolutely bagged this one! :D

Hi there

Just pulled the card apart, turns out the cooler is actually the 980 cooler with heatpipe and the board is exact same layout as 980 reference PCB making 980 reference waterblocks compatible. :)

does this mean it's the same vapour chamber cooler that was originally created for the Titan? or is it a step down from that cooler?

No Titan has a vapour chamber supposedly, though I've not dismantled to a Titan cooler yet, but the 980 and 970 cooler we have here are identical. :)

Just ordered one of these, I'm looking forward to a coil whine free card :) Will report back tomorrow.

Hope you enjoy it and anyone who does have issues with these we will swap out no hassle for the simple fact we've advertised them as such.

Unless of course they are trying to power them off a Tesco value junk PSU then they need to visit our PSU section and sub section Superflower. :D

The vapour chamber is because it needs to shift 100W+ more of heat! I doubt there will be a quieter 970 than this.

Remember MSI 970 and Asus Strix are quieter than this at idle as their fans do not even spin. But in actual gaming usage I can see this being the quietest card, especially in a small enclosure for sure. :)

Why do people buy reference cards? Is it because they want a smaller cooler to make SLI more viable?

They are normally always built to the highest standards and highest quality, the cooler is without a doubt the highest quality best put together cooler on the market.

Huge NVIDIA fans and want the NVIDIA style and the visualizer.

Then from a performance aspect because they are using a small enclosure or running 2 or 3 cards in SLI right next to each other at which point the reference cooler offers by far the best performance.

Fantastic news, I look forward to hear comments about whine! (Good to hear that OC guarantee that in case of whine they will replace it!)

Yeah the factory has used the NVIDIA spec inductors from the 980 and the plastic containers from 980, so the chances of any whine are greatly reduced. As we state it anyone with whine after 48hrs usage even if not that loud we shall replace. :)

firstly this is my first post but needed to as this card is all I hoped it would be and more...received in today and already installed and running.

Fitted in my Node 605 (HTPC/Gaming) and can honestly say this thing is whisper quiet it's running at 32 degree's, unlike my EVGA 570SC it replaces as that thing was warm and loud.

I held of a EVGA 970 ACX 2.0 and i'm honestly glad I did as I was initially worried about heat in the case but ultimately wanted a quiet machine as this is in the lounge and is the media centre hub. However when the missis is out and the lads are over I have the gaming beast..

Also the extra gift of sugary sweets made the unwrapping and installing a bit more fun.....

NICE ONE OCUK...you made this man very happy indeed..

Really glad you are enjoying the card m8, have fun! :)
