Nvidia GTX 980 Owners Thread

The prices has gone up because People will be looking to SLI their EVGA SC and it is sort of a last buy. I'm not agreeing with the price and this is why I actually sold my EVGA SC and bought two non references cards when I saw EOL on them.

The reference cards are all identical anyway, buy two non-EVGA reference cards and flash the evga sc bios, that's what I did.

Both can hit 1400 core (who knows what that makes the boost) so I'm quite happy with them

guys ive been doing some overclocking Please shout as Im still a noob at this,
but so far im getting
core +150 and memory clock +500 display driver crashes if core is any higher
Will I get higher core clocks if I up the voltage? and if yes what should I set it to?
my highest score on 3dmark was 13889

You should get higher clocks with higher volts yes but then you have to contend with a little bit more heat.

Which 3DMark did you run out of curiosity ?

Whats the specs of your system if you don't mind me asking ? :)

When I got that result I had the 5820k at 4,398MHz with 16gb of corsair platinum and win 8.1 and the asus x99 deluxe

i could still install it, but it's not the best clocker, seems to bomb out (driver reset) in 3dmark at 1350 core (only boosts to 1466) regardless of voltage.

debating whether to RMA it.

Mine looks EXACTLY the same, did you RMA It? I'm betting I got your return!! FUMING right now! My card won't even BOOT atm!

If this keeps up I will be ripping my four EVGA SC cards out of my rig and putting them up for sale as EVGA ACX 980 cards are up on another site for instant shipping at just under £10k each LOL

Now that is a price gouge!

Dual inno3d 980s reference here as well, no audible coil whine.
With the case on my table ,the side off and my head 1 meter from the cards when benching I can detect some extra noise, but with the case on its in audible.
Using evga 1300w psu, compared to my old 7970 that had a naty coil whine its nothing at all.
Both run 1400 at default voltages it seems, though the fan isn't silent.
One las thing whn running valley I can't get cards fully loaded even running 4.6gh in my i5.
I'm presuming its the 1680*1050 max resolution on my build monitor, not pushing the cards.
