Nvidia GTX 980 Owners Thread

How do you game at that res and lavish it with 980's :p

I cant even touch 1080p anymore.

1080P for me personally is a sweet spot as I can honestly not tell that much of a difference in game other than a little less aliasing and a bigger desktop so anything over 1080P is wasted on me, But 1600x1050 is a crazy res for 2 x 980's XD

Yummy

My first reference blowers for a while, and they do seem kinda loud.
Not sure if i should let the cards get above 70C ? and reduce the fanspeed.

The reference cards do run hotter. You can let it go higher than 70.c. Mine sat at about 80.c overclocked. You need to find the sweet spot between temp, noise and where it starts to downclock itself.

Mine looks EXACTLY the same, did you RMA It? I'm betting I got your return!! FUMING right now! My card won't even BOOT atm!

no, i still have it. i have a second one as well, the entire bottom of the i/o plate was bent...it came in the morning just before work so i quickly looked through the bag at the top of the plate where the first one was bent and was like, 'cool, looks fine'. then when i got home at night i took it out of the bag and was like, 'wtf?' i almost laughed.

i think gigabyte need to have a look at how these are handled when packed.

Seems to me Gigabyte need to take more care when handling them!

The OI plate is very easy to bend back and won't void your warranty in any way, bend it back, test the card.

Or if you wish simply RMA it, but bending the IO plate back takes seconds and the card should be fine.

Normally gigabyte quality control would not allow product to go out like this.
