Sorry for my late membership fee but better late than not at all. I ended going for the Inno3d Herculez x3 ultra as i didnt think the zotac was worth the exrta £20.

Going to have some tea and then i will overclock her and post what clocks it can do.

Finally finished as i got distracted. Overclocked it to 1591 boost and +300 on the memory. I do feel there is more to come out the card and will have another go at some point but for my 24/7 overclock iam going to run 1564 boost and +300 on the memory as it will do that on stock volts.

Im in EVGA 980 Superclock Sli

Core Boost Clock: 1404MHz
Maximum draw in Heaven 4, 490 watts
Temps 72 and 75 degees
Heaven 4 score 3286 default clocks

Bit of a teething problem as soon as enabled Sli Heaven would not run, games would flicker or crash. After a bit of goggling found it was the Sli Bridge just moved it to second connector and fixed, weird.

Add me to the club. Got mine yesterday B grade. £370 inc del. Was £499 now to day £449:eek: Is something going on?
Run heaven max @64c fans@3%

The card just seems smother but higher mins, will do more testing.

I'm itching now to take the plunge and replace my SLI 580's which have given trusty service since 2011, (and still do tbh), with a pair of 980's but guess it would be pretty stupid to do that now before the impending Black Friday etc.

Just seems sooo many variants to choose from.

I suspect drivers have a lot of maturing to do.

I've not played any brand new games so far only Far Cry 3 and Payday 2.

Far Cry 3 the performance was certainly better, though not by as much as i would have expected.

Payday 2 is a stuttering mess, on my old card could pretty much have a constant 120, on my 980 was dipping to 60/70 at times.

Though the temps are great, as is the noise.. no coil whine or loud fans etc.

This is coming from a GTX 680 running games at 1080p.

Will have to try some more demanding games later today.

To me it seems games dependant. Sniper v2 I get the same as my classy.
DA:I is better. Heaven is better as so is ME:SOM.

On the whole things are smother. High mins.
BTW i have a EVGA 980 SC.

So i seem to have solved the Payday 2 stuttering issues, i had to set single display performance and prefer maximum performance, for some reason my 3d settings weren't being applied at first. Had to download DDU and install them again.

Seems to have smoothed things out nicely.

Running the Asus 980 Strix.

Really can't wait to place an order for 2 off and join the gang, damn you Black Friday!

Hopefully some of the deals for cards might be unveiled early like the monitor preview, of course if anyone from OC wants to mail me, could have a delighted customer in the making :)
