** NVIDIA PRICE DROP: GTX 780 & 770 MASSIVE PRICE DROP!! **

Everyone keeps saying Nvidia don't need to be competitive on pricing due to superior market share, for Nvidia making such a bold move speaks volumes, they must be losing considerable market share to AMD.

Not at all, just they don't have the monopoly of the market anymore so reduced their prices to lead the market again, they've had 3 months of successful 780 sales in the bag anyway.

Actually it's more due to the strength they have of being the only next gen vendor on the market for a number of months. It puts them in a better position to be able to drop prices. Whereas AMD can't realistically yet because they've only just launched.

Think AMD 7900 series but in reverse.

Doubt it was selling like you think it was, Nvidia/Amd don't sell high end gpu's in large numbers-especially@£500+, it would be getting far outsold by the 79 series.

Nvidia don't drop prices unless they have to-obviously they did.

So you're comparing sales of £250 cards to £500+ ones now?

nvidia cards sell well regardless of price.

samsung memory you say, this is something i havent heard before, time to do some research :D and as for the cooler haha no selling outside the mm if i remember rules correctly lol still a fair way off!

:D As far as I could see only the DCU2 in the new stock has Samsung the others switched to Elpidia, you might not want the Asus if you need water blocks, you need to recheck all this obviously ;)

Why are there basically no reference GTX 780s for sale?

I want dat cooler!

I think the only reference was the HIS card I think, might be mistaken, and it went out of stock pretty fast :D

Edit: Damn didn't see that Gainward had some reference coolers....now where are those glasses of mine.
