** NVIDIA RTX 30 SERIES (3090 / 3080 / 3070) NOW ONLINE AT OcUK **

I say you’re very lucky you got that price. Well done mate
Was probably more lucky to get a 3080 shipped out on the 18th at msrp. :D

I would say you found someone mad enough or not up to speed on tech to pay that much for such and old card

It's still not a bad card and will match a rtx 2060 when overclocked and has a couple of extra gigs of VRAM.

Is it worth waiting for 3080 20gb or should i just get 10gb upgrading from ventus 2080ti

If you want to pay £999 for potential future proofing then yes. For current games and any games where VRAM isn't a bottleneck, you'll likely see little to no extra performance for your extra money spent.

I'm upgrading from a 1080 so I can't wait to see the performance gains for myself. I'm still playing on a 4k TV though so a nice 144hz 2k monitor is my next purchase :)
If I owned a 2080ti I'd defiantly wait a while to see what the 20gb model has to say, as it's still a beast of a card that can run most games maxed out without much bother. That's just me though thinking in the context of limited funds, if I was wealthy I'd probably just upgrade anyway in all honesty... You'd get a decent price selling your 2080ti (obviously no to it's original value) but it would take you a long way towards buying a 3080...
It all depends on your situation and inclination I suppose.

If I owned a 2080ti i'd be inclined to skip ampere altogether.

After skipping the 20 series I can't disagree with that logic, in reality I'd probably do the same.
Does anybody have any recommendations for a decent 2k 144hz monitor around the £400 mark? £500 at a push. I'm currently looking at the TUF gaming VG27BQ but I've not bought a monitor in over 10 years so I don't want to overlook anything.

Hope we hear some news on the 3090 stock situation soon, am being patient but would be nice to get my head stuck into some pc gaming...

Yeah, after contacting ASUS in the panic of the capacitor confusion a week or so ago, they've got back today saying the main office is closed due to a Chinese holiday, so they can't get an answer to my question (that I no longer want an answer to)... Anyway, I also recall OC mentioning around launch, that in early October there is some kind of holiday that would disrupt supply for a week or so. So I think we may be seeing the consequences of that in what little has been said on supply recently. On top of course of supply just being decimated...

Yes, Gigabyte AORUS FI27QP 27" 2560x1440 IPS 165Hz 1ms FreeSync/G-Sync Compatible LED Backlit Gaming Monitor

Thanks, I'll check it out.

Edit: I've just spotted the "B grade" ones available on OC, I'll give them a shout around payday just to see if they can give me an idea on what kind scuff etc. I would be looking at but assuming it won't effect its usability, it sounds good to me. Thanks again.

3090 is for 4K. Anything lower and there is no point.

If just wanting a GPU for gaming, the 3080 is the sweet spot considering the price. The 3090 isn't providing the same amount of extra performance for it's cost.

I find it really odd that they would set the 17th & 24th Sept 20 for release dates for a new Nvidia RTX Gpu knowing a week & a bit later that it would be a chinese holiday for the people that actually manufacture & make the boards, lmao
