** NVIDIA RTX 30 SERIES (3090 / 3080 / 3070) NOW ONLINE AT OcUK **

I think I'll just go FE this time around, nice looking card and is interesting what they've done cooling wise.

Directing some case fans towards the FE should also make it perform a lot cooler as it has two passively cooled heatsinks with heatpipes coming directly from the GPU.

The FE cooling solution looks promising when compared to past FE's, much better than blowers.

I'm considering an FE again but my only concern is 0db modes for idle temps.

The fans on my last FE spun regardless of the temps and made an awful noise after a few months.

Like the look of many of the other cards but against pre-ordering especially if stock is going to be limited.

I was watching Hardware Canucks’ video and he mentioned that the NDA for the Founders Edition card lifts on the 14th so can’t wait to see how the cooler performs as well as the overall performance :D

My 3 choices are going to be from:
3090 EVGA FTW3
3090 ASUS ROG Strix OC
3090 Gigabyte Aorus Extreme

The review will be out by 14th and 17th apparently due to NDA, so I'll be waiting on seeing how they perform to decide. Don't think I'll be disappointed with any of the above though

If OCUK Get that pink Galax 3080 in, I'll get that.

If not then it'll be a toss up between these:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/evga...dr6x-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-329-ea.html

Depending on clock speeds and temps of course.

Just double checking my system should be OK right?

R7 2700X/16GB DDR4 2666Mhz/Asus Prime X470 Pro/Super Flower Leadex 650W Gold.

I see Nvidia recommend a lot higher RAM but I have been fine with 16GB for a while now.

The TDP of the 3080 is 320w and the TDP of the 2700x is 105w so you should be okay with your current PSU even though Nvidia recommend 750w. As far as I'm aware, there are no minimum requirements of RAM for GPU's (not saying I'm definitely right here, just personally I haven't :)). Overall I'd say you should be pretty fine.

OK cheers, been out of upgrades since 2018 and really haven't kept up to date.

Really want to keep this PSU as it's rock solid. But will upgrade if needs be. Only using 1 SSD and 1 HDD atm, do plan to go completely to M.2 though.

happy to help! I switched to 2 M.2 drives (one for OS and the other for games) and 1 SATA SSD and I’ve never been so happy in my life to not have to hear any spinning rust :D
