** NVIDIA RTX 30 SERIES NOW ONLINE AT OVERCLOCKERS UK (3090 / 3080 / 3070) **

The summary for me as I'm upgrading from 1080ti:

  • The cooler/thermals are fine
  • I'm getting a 90% increase @4k
  • I'm getting a 80% increase @1440
  • I'm glad I didn't own a 2080ti and panic sold for £400 :p

Decision made. I don't really care what the 3090 offers because the 3080 provides enough for the price as it's actually less than I paid for my 1080ti.

I also think it's time to buy direct from Nvidia because:

  1. The FE cooler is much improved and may even be better than some AIB offerings
  2. I don't care about overclocking this one
  3. It's time retailers/AIB's were sent a proper message regarding price gouging.

Hope you get one tomorrow, I'll be ordering too if I can!

I was spectical about the 10GB VRAM - but as none of the reviews mentioned this being a factor at 4K, it puts me at ease. Plus, I don't think any of the AAA game developers will have the balls to make a game that needs more than 10GB VRAM during the 2 years that the 3080 is the flagship.

Looks like our CX48's will be getting pampered soon haha!

Guys, I notice when I try to login on the Nvidia Store site doing a dummy order, it doesn't recognise my login details (they work on the normal Nvidia site). Do I need to create a separate Nvidia Store login?

I had exactly this problem earlier, I thought it was me being a tool (still entirely plausible)... Logged into the normal site fine but when you go to the shop it had no idea:confused:

I have a 1060gb, waiting for 3070 reviews so I can finally update to a 1440P monitor. I have had my 3700x and fast memory/M2 drive sat here waiting for a decent gfx card and screen for those AAA games :)
Looking forward to the increases I will see when last 2 components updated :)

The FE cooler is getting pretty rave reviews so the AIB partners need to pull something serious good out to even slightly justify the bloated prices

Just reading the Guru3D review and they did report it was quiet and a good cooler but also mention about airflow with the back side of the card registering 90c at one point. This is airflow aimed at the CPU so I think things might still get a bit toasty.

I've answered my own question, I was able to create a store account up to the point of ordering the card, so im good to go tomorrow and all my details are saved :)

Thanks, I've did the same and you've now lost your advantage. :p

Cheers mate, and yes I'm looking forward to high refresh HDR 4k OLED with Gsync!

Same here. Was all set to buy from OCUK but the (SILENT I might add) gouging over the last few says has caused me to throw up my middle finger.
I'll be smashing F5 on Nvidias website tomorrow. It's a better card anyway I recon.

It would be ironic if big navi draws less power and runs cooler than the 3080...

I thought that too, but then reconciled myself in the likelihood that the drivers will likely ruin the card at launch, and take many months to fix. That's after waiting months after the 3080 launch for AMD availability, as they seem so far behind.

The cooler also looks very lacking compared to the NV FE card. Just no way in hell it's going to be as quiet as the FE cooler, assuming similar TDP.
