** NVIDIA RTX 30 SERIES NOW ONLINE AT OVERCLOCKERS UK (3090 / 3080 / 3070) **

End of the day prices will go up and as a lot of people will pay the price to get one day one ..its just business.. if u was OCUK would u not up the price as u know there will sell anyway ?

As I suspected the reference card is getting power limited, that means the 2x8 pin cards will be as well.

The question now is, does removing that power limit give enough of an increase to warrant £200 premium for a 3 x 8 pin model.

I might just pick up a 3080FE and wait for all the top end 3090 reviews before buying one of those. I can probably sell the 3080 on ebay at no loss and the recent sale of my Radeon 7 has paid for the 3080 anyway.

The summary for me as I'm upgrading from 1080ti:

  • The cooler/thermals are fine
  • I'm getting a 90% increase @4k
  • I'm getting a 80% increase @1440
  • I'm glad I didn't own a 2080ti and panic sold for £400 :p

Decision made. I don't really care what the 3090 offers because the 3080 provides enough for the price as it's actually less than I paid for my 1080ti.

I also think it's time to buy direct from Nvidia because:

  1. The FE cooler is much improved and may even be better than some AIB offerings
  2. I don't care about overclocking this one
  3. It's time retailers/AIB's were sent a proper message regarding price gouging.

I agree with everything here, except that for £10 more the Zotac 3080 has a 5 year warranty. Aside from that offering a bit more peace of mind, it'll definitely help with resale value.

Good points, I'm on the same wavelength as you. I've bought Gigabyte or Asus for the last 3 gens, but I simply do not want to pay over £650...

Like the FE that comes with a single HDMI 2.1 port. I was hoping for two (capture card & TV out)

Guys, I notice when I try to login on the Nvidia Store site doing a dummy order, it doesn't recognise my login details (they work on the normal Nvidia site). Do I need to create a separate Nvidia Store login?

I've answered my own question, I was able to create a store account up to the point of ordering the card, so im good to go tomorrow and all my details are saved :)

Zotac, and many other AIB cards, will be much louder than the FE. The engineering on the FE is seriously impressive - from the custom PCB, the huge vapour chamber, to the massive heatsink fin array, there is absolutely no way a simple triple fan setup from the AIB will cool 320W+ quietly.

Overclockers better hope there are hardly any FE cards, as there is little reason to buy an overpriced AIB. Especially if you luck out on FE, with big navi on the horizon.
