** NVIDIA RTX 30 SERIES NOW ONLINE AT OVERCLOCKERS UK (3090 / 3080 / 3070) **

bit of a **** take really, either put an announcement out saying X customers till XX:XX time are having theirs shipped out today, or at least have an open method for communicating to cancel orders...

Don't worry mate, I got my shipment confirmation last night... but DHL can't find it anywhere in their system... so it looks like it hasn't actually been shipped yet.

They are still tiny compared to lots of companies using big cloud providers. You can guarantee they’ll be using some cheap, antiquated provider...

They're hosted by "Tempus London Cloud", a small "private cloud" company, aka a bunch of old school tin servers sitting in a datacentre somewhere. https://www.prfire.com/submission/us-venture-capital-doubles-down-on-uk-private-cloud-company/

Their accounts list a single employee so it's just a one man band, I'm guessing with OCUK as their only customer. Fair play to the chap but I'd suggest he work on business development and sell OCUK some more services to get their shop into one of the big 3 cloud providers. (Azure, Amazon, GCP)

And if they need any help, give me a shout, I've moved $100bn Insurance companies into the cloud so I'm sure we can work something out for OCUK :)

When newbies post on the OCUK graphics card forum during an Nvidia launch.

Talk to Disco P he will tell you all about pain - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/posts/29917727/

@Disco_P

I ordered the EVGA 1080 on the 2nd June, it arrived on 4th September.

It took 94 days.

94 days from yesterday is December 20th!

Y'all complaining about not getting it next day? smh...

(the above is a bit of a joke, OcUK increasing price and taking money without any communication is pretty terrible)

I think what saddens me the most about these cards launch is the greedy self centred bot resellers who are spoiling this whole release for everyone else to line their own pockets.
Literally seconds after the 3080 release time the website and every other website form other sellers went down and the stock was cleared out, only for dozens of cards to then reappear on ebay at vastly inflated prices and with rsellers have p[lenty of cards, not single units to sell, these people sicken me frankly.

I would rather not have a card than feed these greedy self centred pigs who do this and i wish that Overclockers would take telephone orders for single cards only to different adresses - that would be the fair and decent way to deal with things and they would still sell out but it would be done to cater for genuine customers and not these bot who simply exploit us all - or try.
As regards any anti bot measures we all know this is easily overcome and whilst these greedy pigs do nothing illegal by buying all the stock it simply disssapoints me that a more sensible and individual approach to ordering isnt taken, its easily done and should be done that way- over the phone and single orders to single addresses only.

Ocuk taking the money for unknown orders actually works out for us guys.
It means they can tell the suppliers "we have x amount of money sitting here for your products"
Which allows for them to secure more stock to fulfil those orders, everyone then wins in that situation

Fascinating. Thanks for the info!

I'd like to pre order a card.. Do we have any idea what might restock first. Having near £800 taken and then a different one restocks a significant period before would hurt :(

This made me look back at the last time I ordered a GFX card...an EVGA 1080GTX FTW. I seem to have done "well" at only a 50 day wait from ordering to receiving the last time. You would think I shouldve learned my lesson...

What makes me laugh about people trying to buy scalpled 3080s, is surely the main thing that has everyone so excited about them is the insane performance to cost ratio? Just seems to funny to me people would even be willing to pay 1k+, might as well just hold out for a 3090 at this stage

Yeah that was a long long time waiting that summer. Gave up on EVGA in the end and bought a pallit when I saw one in stock at MSRP.

Sorry in advance, but.... can i get folks thoughts on something, for those who will be waiting awhile to get a 3080 (ignore/shoot me down if this isn’t the topic of today’s discussion):

  • Is there a point at which it is worth waiting for the 20GB variant or Big Navi to be announced? I’m paranoid asf, that IF... i could get a 3080 in the next week or two, i’ll end up getting shafted by a new model announced before the year is out.
ps. Feel free to laugh at my pc building newbie ass.

My parcel was posted out yesterday but when I hit track dpd I get this message.
"We've received your order details, but have not yet received your parcel"

Indeed. Its the metality that you had it in your head you want something and then when you cant have it, you are prepared to pay over the odds.

Same thing happens at auctions. I once saw a washing machine and a TV sold with a same day warranty only for more money than you could have gone down the road and bought new ones with full warranty from Argos all because two people had decided they must have it and kept bidding.
