** NVIDIA RTX 30 SERIES NOW ONLINE AT OVERCLOCKERS UK (3090 / 3080 / 3070) **

It would appear not. Jacob from EVGA said they have based that card on the reference board but changed a couple of things, Which annoyingly means a reference waterblock wont fit it., GRRRRRRRRRR

Got to be honest, I'll just suck up some extra change and get a pre blocked card.

Did it for my 2080 and really cannot be bothered playing the cooler removal warranty/block compatibility game this time around either.

Looks like both Gigabyte and EVGA are planning pre blocked cards.

Yup the usual Gigabyte Aorus xtreme WB and EVGA Hydrocopper edition

Yeah I might do the same. Annoyingly though they might be £900 for the 3080 versions and £1800 for the 3090 versions the way things are going!
The 2080 WB was around £900-£1000 from what i remember, EVGA ones will be even higher purely down to brand name. You'll be looking at the same pricing again no doubt.

AORUS GEFORCE RTX 3080 XTREME

Is already priced at £799 so add another £200 to that for the AIO and WB versions and you have your card.

You’ll always get some devs targeting 30fps with better visuals, as it is easier to market. I’ve started getting headaches from 30fps stutter-fests, so it’s a no from me. Ah yes, i have spent far too long researching components and reading/watching reviews. Not good... haha. Thanks! I think i need a bit of luck, it seems quite involved, and i know i’ll miss the simplest of steps and fk everything up!

I suppose when your used to it you don't really make too much of it I guess, I couldn't go under 60fps anymore I'd rather leave whatever it is I'm playing until I've upgraded.

It's a minefield if you don't keep in the loop, I went through a few years of not being interested and then trying to upgrade it's a nightmare haha.

Nah you'll be right just take your time, we learn from our mistakes but it's hard to get anything wrong these days other than dropping a new CPU in the socket and bending pins in the socket, I've done that before :D

If they are going up as stock orders are finalised and prices agreed then different ones will go up every day. Does that make sense?

I am not saying there might not be price gouging going on by manufacturers but what do you do it it turns out you will only have 20 cards ready for launch date and you know you can sell them 100 times over?

Yeah I get that I understand what your saying, I can only guess the cards that are changing in price there is no stock but we'll find out soon enough.

I am happy 30-60fps with gysnc :D

I am old school like that. FYI I don’t play online, so no twitch gaming. Mainly rpg, rts and story based games.

I'm totally PC illiterate, can someone explain to me in very basic terms what the dufference between the FE and AIB cards are?
*never mind, I found a video by a guy called Jay who seems to know what he's on about. It's basically a card that makes the GPU and then AIBs add different cooling systems?)

Ive had a PC built and just need a GPU and it's ready to go but you guys are scaring me that the 3080 won't be any good and it's going to cook my new system (ive got 6 fans). I'm looking forward to reviews tomorrow where I'm sure my questions will be answered by many YTers.

My last question, where exactly do I click 'Buy' for these cards? Nvidia website or OverClockers?

Ty for any replies

FE is the cards you buy from Nvidia, with the fancy new design. AIB are third parties like Asus, Zotac etc. that use their own coolers etc. If you are not a person who cares about a few percent difference in performance, heat etc. then they are effectively identical to you. The FE version can only be bought from Nvidias stores whilst AIB versions are sold by Overclockers and others. Most people will buy AIB.

Hi and welcome,

FE = Founders Edition cards made and sold by Nvidia directly.
AIB = Add in Board cards, sold by other companies like EVGA, MSI, Asus etc....

Overclockers UK will sell the AIB cards but not the FE versions.

AIB cards normally (subject to you buying a decent model) have better cooling, quieter and a lot of the time better performance, but this can come at an extra cost (£'s).

You'll need to make sure your PC is up to spec to cope with the new cards, especially the power supply. Can you list your current parts list?
