NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - OFFICIAL PRE-ORDER THREAD!

Wait are you being serious? I never bothered with 4XXX series, is that how it was with that launch?
IDK how it is in europe, but here in Canada, only best buy sells founders edition cards, and I've never seen anything stay in stock in the past few years except for the 4080 before the price cuts and I think the 3080ti used to always be in stock.

I was waiting on refresh time every week as I work afternoons, trying to get a FE 4090, and before this, a FE 3060ti, 3070, 3080, just for resale if anything - the button would light up as I pounded refresh, I'd get it into basket, things would freeze, and by the time I was able to try and load an actual buy attempt like 20 seconds later, they'd all be gone. I never did manage to get a FE model of anything. Never had one. Don't even like how they look. But it's like 300 dollars cheaper than any other store/card over here in Canada.

oops lol I was just about to link the stock of my only local brick and mortar PC store chain here in winnipeg just so you can all see how ****** the market is, and completely forgot I'm on an english computer store's forum somehow

Wondering whether the 5070Ti would be a good upgrade from my 3080FE. Will be interesting to see benchmarks. The 3080 seems to have held the value pretty well thankfully.

Back then you didn't have AI enthusiasts buying these cards, there are companies out there that will be tens of these cards for their model training and other AI uses, I fully expect these cards to sell out at launch like last time, and will do for future generations now.

I hope the warranty info will become clearer prior to launch. I know that's not neccessarily up to OCUK, but warranty length will definitely be a factor for which card I order.

Is there a major difference with getting a FE 5090 or just a regular one? I am assuming only Nvidea direct will have them? Also, is it possible to pay with finance when ordering the card or do you have to pay the full amount?

Well it will be cheaper than AIB's. Tought to say how it will perform noise wise and thermally compared to the AIB partners. Nvidia has them and another etailer which I cannot link to. Contrary to belief they are the official partner to Nvidia. If you pay by finance it takes time for the payment to go through from the finance company to the etailer. That could drop you down the queue if other people are buying it outright. Maybe to the point where you are outside the set allocation of units until next batch.

If it is within your means just get it outright to give you the best possible chance to get one. Also you will be competing against other enthusiasts, scalpers, companies that want it for AI training etc.

So instead of crypto miners we are up against the AI crew? great stuff. This makes it more fun.

I loved the 4090 FE even though it ran hotter and a bit louder than AIB's. I hated the 3080ti FE so freaking loud. I love chonky graphics cards and especially liked the 4090 FE chonkiness as it short and phat AF...kinda like me :(

:P

Never forget the fe went from "coming soon" to sold out instantaneously at 2pm, because a back door link had been posted a few minutes before. Then the ocuk website went down a minute after launch for over an hour. Launch was not a good time lol.
Ah the memories... I don't think this launch will be any different.

In this context, Add-in Board.
Ah okay thank you. When it comes to ordering is it simply 1 card per order or could I order for example the 5090 and 5070 together? My brother is running a 3060 and is due an upgrade as his system is a good amount of years old

As a 4090 owner, the 5090 is going to have to seriously impress the reviewers and give a serious performance increase for me to bite. £2K is also a psychological breakpoint on price and I hope OCUK keep prices below that.

I wouldn't hold your breath. At today's exchange rate, assuming a perfect exchange rate and plus VAT, it's £1964. Maybe there will be 1 or 2 models that will be close-ish to the FE price. However, I'd expect the average to be a fair bit higher. Then throw in the upcoming US presidency change and how that may impact exchange rates... then who knows.
