NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

There's a lovely Asus Prime 5080 (the Toyota Yaris Aygo LE of models) available for only £1330 at OC now :rolleyes:

And one for £1500. The 5080 has worse raster performance than a 4090, along with 8gb less VRAM. Who is buying these AIB cards at £1500? :confused: Not sure what UK prices are going to be but same applies to the 5070ti, priced at up to $1000.

So are oc saying they can only pre order or that Ocuk do not have any in stock for next day delivery /

Bizarre isn't it.

It stuns me that there are so many people with that much money to spend on a xx80 second tier card...that isn't even as fast as the previous top card that was the same price and easily available for ages prior.

Who are these people :confused:

With these pre-orders, presumably they only take a deposit and take the rest when the goods are shipped? (we're not needing to pay up-front with no idea when we're getting the item?)
Negative. Full payment up front. Another retailer currently sitting on £2.5k of mine while waiting for stock but with supplies so short it’s the only way to get one

OCUK will wait until competitors all sold out then open up for pre-order 5070Ti with increased price (competitor+100-200)
Thats the game OUCK was playing in 5090 launch
5090 MSRP 1979 --> 2200+
5080 MSRP 979 --> 1100+
5070Ti MSRP 799--> 900+
Thats my guess
Those MSRPs for 80s and 90s were FE cards so different models to ones sold here. So not comparable.

Jeez the tiers of cards below 5090s are terrible. Same rough price performance available in 4000 series for 2 years prior.

Just makes it all the more confusing for me why there’s a gigantic gap between the 5090 and 5080 which could have been filled by an actual x80 class card and have the other tiers filter down from there. I think nvidia know how to make money better than what we know but you’d think they would have got a lot more people upgrading this way. They probably liked their 4000 series Super release so planning something similar but unless you’re going for a 5090 from 3000 series or lower it’s not great imo.
Nvidia will lock out the older cards with 50 series + exclusive tech even if performance is the same ish or do an Apple and start to nerf the drivers

For those waiting on gigabite 5090 Waterforce Waterblock
