NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

Check on the official Nvidia twitter, this event sold FE cards and it seems didn't even stick to 1 per "household" nevermind saying the event didnt include FE cards

Annoying. I’d have taken a day out if I’d known I could secure a 5090FE over the counter.

Oh well, I’ll just have to check the Nvidia site once in a while instead, perhaps even resort to stock alerts too.

Still annoying though. I got their email too and it specifically said they would not be selling FE’s in the shop.

and the 4090 missed out of a 40980ti

do you guys think the 5090 will have a ti?

Imo doubt it they don't need too because no competition and it only gonna hurt the 60 series will put pressure to have bigger uplift

Imagine they had 4090ti the uplift from 4090 to 5090 would have been less

Probably get 5080ti enough gap between 5080 and 5090

What a fun thread ;)

Surprised at OCUK's pricing, given they honoured the MSRP of the 9800X3D.

I know the 50 series and Nvidia has (rightly) gotten a lot of flak, but I hope those who bought or preordered cards enjoy their purchases

I was kinda shocked at the difference, we're not talking £20-£30. OCUK are much more expensive. So glad I got a pre-order on the other site, £140 is a significant saving.

Just checked the prices, obscene for what you're getting.

With the 5080 being more like a 4080 Ti Super and 5090 being more like a 4090 Ti, This gen is a let down in performance and especially in pricing.

Anyone remember this thread:

https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/50-series-trying-to-help-members-get-one-ideas.18998022/

Thanks for the MSRP(+£200) pricing, super appreciated

Well he was saying in a post earlier how his job takes him all over the world, have to pay for it somehow lol.

Either way while annoying, I don't care too much, they still have 5080s in stock on launch day.

let people get scalped, let people pay too much money and let them be first if they want to spend £500 more to have their reddit post karma showing off their card go for it, ill wait a month for normal prices, people who rush out to buy this stuff day one know what happens and deserve to be ripped off they are to blame for these prices in the first place. All this shows is the 6090 will be $2500MRSP

I'm not spending more money on a GPU than I spent on my car.

If priced right ill get as 9070xt so I can wait until March, I suspect 5080 prices will settle too by that time.

Someone on the bidding site is trying to sell a picture of a 5090 for over 2.4k....Although it clearly states its a picture and is aimed at the bots . I dont think they will get anywhere.

Description states :

Please read description. If you are a HUMAN do not buy this item. Selling a picture of a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5090 JUST A PICTURE. Do not buy if you are a real person... NO REFUNDS will be excepted. You will receive 1 picture of the Graphics card. Thank you.

****DISCLAIMER***

If you are a human buyer do not buy this item

Scalper bots are welcome
Shhh!
I've scalped 13 so far!

...although I've scuppered my profit margins somewhat because one picture seller keeps upping his prices.

Still, gotta be innit to winnit.

Since there’s no more 4090s, if someone RMA’d a 4090 would they have to give you a 5090 because it has to be an equal or better card?

I'm biding my time with my EVGA 2080Ti - bought the 10 year warranty in 2018, with every intention of trying my luck at the end of 2027.

...although knowing my luck, they'll just throw me a Palit 7050Ti and invoice me £11k for the excess.
