NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

My 5090 FE order from yesterday is still in ‘Awaiting Picking’ status. I called up (felt a bit bad doing this as they are no doubt busy) and have been assured that a card has been allocated and they are working hard to ship over the weekend for hopefully a Monday delivery. I was getting a little worried. They said the warehouse has been very busy with the launch. I really can’t wait to receive it now though!

16 weeks for some of these 5090 pre orders. Wtf is going on? Maybe NVIDIA don’t care if they don’t sell any.
I’d be concerned of a slight price drop while waiting 4 months in

I’d like to think people won’t be waiting that long though and it’s just a heavy estimate

i think there is a separate que for each model and version, such as asus 5080 or Zotak 5090, that means theres many many ques
Can’t see any of the Zotac available anywhere, only thing I can find is a Palit card that says ships in 2-3 weeks but how accurate that is, who knows.

Got a Zotac 5080 Amp extreme due for delivery at 3pm.
Good upgrade from the current 6800xt and ideal for 1440p gaming, no plans to go to 4k atm

There’s no excuse anymore. No covid induced shortages, no pseudo market demand from mining. Just complete negligence from nvidia. They don’t deserve our money.

They shall have it anyways. Lol.

They are doing all this on purpose anyway. Strategy, not negligence.

Happens when you have around 90% market share.

It’s not negligence. Most of the product is going to AI where the markups are much higher.

They keep their foot in gaming to keep their multiple markets open in case their AI market shrinks. It’s just plain economics of supply and demand.

No doubt that the shortage is also partly planned to drive marketing hype and press as well.

I am so impressed with the Palit Gamerock 5080, it's an absolute monster upgrade over my 3080. I just ran Cyberpunk benchmark absolutely maxed, everything cranked and near 100fps average without FG and 155fps with 2x which is basically capping out my monitor. It's so cool as well, my 3080 would reach 60-70c but this is half that.

Well after sitting logged in the over clockers web site from 13.30. When the gong rang 13.58 I hit f5 and splat the site was down for me and that was that . Over at another website I did manage to see the baskets go live and all sell out in 4 seconds!!
I am now in position 50 in the que for the 5090 msi suprim soc. So whilst waiting for the time to tick buy I went nuts and decided to upgrade my 14900k to the ryzen 9800x3d ddr5 6000 and new m.2 drive. I better hide the bank bill from the wife :D

Must be a dodgy temp sensor or the card reporting the temp wrong as no way its running at 30c while gaming.

My 5080 TUF OC gets 200+ in 4K with everything maxed and 4x frame gen. Plays really well with 4x.
