Nvidia Shield

I just ordered mine for £149 and thats with remote there doing offer until the 28th Feb with remote chucked in so thought thats it take the plunge. Im having few probs with my ISP at moment so streaming over my network is a prob at moment. So thought getting the shield so i can attach a larger HDD was for me i have a Android box at min even though its fine it only lets you attach a 2TB drive which is pants if you got films and music. And the pic Quality is suppose to be amazing on the shield. I like the idea of 24/192 for audio via USB which will be great for music connected to my Canton DM-55

Should I consider a Shield for gaming (mainly driving) over a PS4?

Its half the price and will be connected via Ethernet to Virgin BB

Nooooooooooo. If the internet goes down, you won't be able to play any games via GeForce Now and that's where the PS4-equivalent ones are hosted.

Ive heard that the Shield ain't great at the mo for online Gaming im not a Gamer even tho the shield is aimed at a lot of Gamers im not getting it for that mainly its features

inho online gaming is no where near ready for primetime.

The Shield is Best used for:

Plex + NAS (watching Tv Shows Movies etc)

Watching Youtube (watching Tech Shows or Watching,Esports Matches)

watching Twitch (watching Tech Shows or Watching,Esports Matches)]

Google Music (Playing Music with nice screensaver)

Google Movies (Watching Films)

Local Nvidia Game-streaming from PC (play euro truck sim or American truck sim for example on the TV)

Listening to the Radio

Above is what i use mine for & gets a good 4+ hours a day ussage. sdo much so i have removed my Sky box.

just switched from Plex to Kodi as a test trial. due to my slower NAS (1.6ghz,256MB) the Shield+kodi is noticeable faster & more eyecandy.

Nvidia sheild remote is far superior to the gamepad. the gamepad is an xbox clone gone wrong imho its much fatter and less gripping hard to grasp it

I'm going to sell my rp1 and Amazon Fire stick and get one of these I think

Sick of buffering and slow menus

Are games still slowly coming on? And there is no web browser

their is no browser- correct but why would you need one?

Vevo app
