NVIDIA to Unveil GeForce GTX TITAN P at Gamescom

Same old on the forums. All speculating as always. Those who actually know can never say due to NDA. I really don't get the point of all this speculation. Pages of keyboard warrior inaccurate information.

Just wait and see if the price for performance u want is fine for you buy one!!

Yeah but its fun to speculate...............:D

Titan P? Titan Pee? Titan Urine edition?

I wouldn't mind the extra cost of a Titan, so long as they don't make the Ti comparable on performance. At least if you're going to have multiple tiers of high end cards and much higher prices, then make them differential on performance as would make sense.

It's time the Titan was just that.

Firstly what does the performance of the Ti matter? It doesn't change the price or performance of the Titan.

Secondly they'll always be close in performance. The Titan makes huge profits cause it'll be the most powerful graphics card and suckers people will pay anything for it. Then the Ti sells massively as it looks like a great deal compared to the titan. It's worked twice in the past and it will work a 3rd time.

The Titan with its massive VRAM used to have utility in tri/quad setups. Now that SLI is dying it doesn't seem to have a point unless it continues to be a cheap workstation card.

1080Ti will probably be around £700. The price of the 1080 is irrelevant as the price of that will be shunted down when the Ti releases.

Titan might break a grand, but the Ti is something they want to sell to a good chunk of enthusiasts.

Indeed.

I think most 1070/1080 owners are deluded.

They just can't accept that they have been ripped off from the beginning and about to lose a big chunk of money soon once the Ti/Titan hits.

How have we been ripped off? By the time the Ti/TX comes out I will of been playing on my 1080 for over 6 month which is why I bought it. It wont lose performance once the next cards come out or suddenly become a rubbish card.

Theres always something around the corner so by that logic, anyone who buys a 1080ti will be getting ripped off as the 1180 will be out 6 month after that. Just because you dont want to buy a 1080 dosnt mean the people who buy one are deluded. I dont buy cards for them to hold their value or I wouldnt of bought a TX at launch. I buy them to get the performance I want to play the latest games

Exactly. If losing money/value is an issue when you are buying high end gear then you shouldnt buy it or cant really afford to in the first place

Yep. You either play the "wise buy, buy the outgoing generation when on offer" and not lose much money of you go all in and keep buying the new gen every time it comes out.

Second way will cost you a lot of money, first way not so much and I have done first way sometimes.

But you buy what you can afford and want. Residual value shouldn't come into it if buying any card over £200. Its an expensive hobby after all.

Hell, I just bought over £800 of watercooling bits. When I came to sell them will I see anymore than £100 to £300? Nope. Am I bothered? Nope.

lets not have whether it's a high end or mid range card, technically for pascal it's a mid range chip performing like an high end so really it's both I say as l as it performs well and is worth the money to you then so be it (y) personally I wouldn't be spending £630+ on a 1080 when a 980 Ti can be had for £359

Yep, mid range that beats the TX by a comfortable margain. You buy what you want and I will buy what I want. People are free to do what they want and shouldnt be called names for doing it. Ill be enjoying my performance in the meantime and will enjoy even more when the next Titan comes out.

Best way to look at it. If the individual thinks its OK to spend £xxx then its OK. I'm spending it to get enjoyment form gaming and I'm enjoying myself so...money well spent.

If you think its too much money or dont feel like you want one then it isnt for you

I agree with this personally I would feel ripped off if I got a 1080 that's why I cancelled my pre-order when the Ti strix went to £359 so much performance for the cost and is the first time for some time I haven't had the best out there but I don't care I'm not prepared to pay £600 for a 1080 when I know a Ti is going to launch for around £700 which would be the absolute MOST I'd be willing to pay for one. It's down to who buys the card whether they feel ripped off though if they can afford it and it benefits them and can do what a 980 Ti can't do then it'll be worth the money to them :)

well said,

going to the pub for a couple hours - at least £40
going to the movies - another £40

several years of enjoyment for £600 - doesn't sound so bad after all does it?
