Obsidian New RPG Avowed

I'm confused, it's a role playing game. The idea being to play whatever character you want. Why would having optional pronouns be bad....

Because pronouns are used by people to refer to what they see.

Pronouns are not imposed on others contrary to what they see.

The idea of imposing pronouns on people is as absurd as imposing adjectives on people.

I'm still confused, how is it imposed if you can just pick whichever one you want for your character?

I thought this game was looking a bit rough even before this debacle - it looks like an inferior Skyrim knockoff ( and that game is 13 years old ). My theory is MS know this game is going to be a flop, so they need a scapegoat ... in this case the activist art director who can't stop flapping his lips.
He needs sacking honestly. Completely unhinged and unprofessional to drag all your colleagues, and game down with you.

If he had an opinion to share maybe he should have done it when not tied to something that’s been in dev for 4-5 years or whatever.

In any case, this looks like another Veilguard.

Because people don’t choose them for themselves. They are used by other people.

This is how our language works. It isn’t complicated.

In a game where it is possible to select the sex of a character this is just absurd. If you choose a male character then other people will use male pronouns to refer to you. If you choose a female character then people will use female pronouns to refer to you.

Right but what if, get this, you want to play as a male character that identifies as female or non-binary? Oh wow, well now you have the option to... and if you just want to play as a male character then you just select male and him/he then continue on with the game and forget about all the other options. Its not a hard concept and I genuinely dont get why people are upset by a single extra option. Its an RPG and the idea of having as much freedom of choice and expression as possible for your character is the idea. Do some people just need a pronoun-free safe space?

I'm not opposed to a game having they/them as long as it's just something you see in the character screen or something. But these days they/them is often an indicator that the game is filled with lgbtq propaganda. Veilguard started out with them/them in the character screen and two hours later the game was forcing your character to became a transvestite

Well, I, and many others, would prefer to not see that sort of nonsense in a game.

Developers derailing a game again with pronoun nonsense, embarrassing

Derailed because of drama queens like we have on here reacting to it, half the time I wonder if they are just trolling easy targets like they have on this forum, I can see the appeal :D

Side note - I have no clue what the Musk reference is about and I don't care to find out, I'm sure it's incredibly boring like the rest of it.

I wonder if devs are just trolling their customers at this stage. They keep on hiring the drama queens who insists on sticking this nonsense into games.

I mean what is the worst that could happen? AAA games aren’t going to flop.

Been that bothered by a game containing an option to be inclusive for people(or even people who just want to play a trans character for well you know the role play) is a sign of a well-adjusted individual and clearly not hate-filled sad little men. I get the hate on veilguard, it has objectively terrible design and writing but been upset by an option for pronouns is just as ridiculous as some of you seem to think their inclusion is.
