And it’s fine to criticise a company if that’s what they’re doing - providing it is what they are doing and it breaks laws doing so.

But Elon musk (a man who makes his tweet the most views because the wants it that way) just retweeted hearsay as fact and the internet laps up the headline.

So here is another game that’s already getting a negative rap thanks to the right wing social media frenzy over a post encouraging artists to get help so they have a better chance in the future.

Obsidian have always had crazy sliders on character creation, see fallout new vegas and if it’s not obvious that that still is the player and not an npc made to looks dumb, then I don’t know how to help people who think so.

The thing is that when all this kinda thing comes out before a game is released, the game doesn’t do very well, or in the case of Concord/Dustborn it’s an unmitigated disaster, or in the case of AC it gets put back.
There is a correlation whether it be pronouns, some director possibly saying things he shouldn’t or DEI stuffs being forced upon the gamers.
This should be obvious to studios by now.

Ian has claimed this and used another tweet that is a screenshot of the "crusty old white dudes", go and read it - they are offering portfolio reviews and job advise to black people as a priority, so not even exclusively. They are not offering jobs / internships or the likes.

I've have pointed this out, that Ian has alleged something without proof and that makes it hearsay by definition. Elon Musk has then tweeted this out to millions and thus a lie is being perpituated.

All you can focus on is the crusty of white dudes bit.

So either you are:
1. So thin skinned you can't get past one sentence out of context of the discussion going on
2. Being deliberately disingenuous with me

p.s it's not racist if you say a white dominated job has a lot of white folk. Just as it's not sexist to say a lot of women are in female dominated jobs.

If he was a black man working in an industry that was dominated by black males and was trying to promote diversity then yes.

A white guy saying hey this industry that I work in is 99% white guys like me then offering help/advice to people who arent white to give them a chance of getting into said industry is so far from racist. Its like you lack any critical thinking or empathy. Its not positive discrimination or racism, that can be a real thing but that tweet is not that. Getting into an industry thats dominated by a single gender or race will be extremely intimidating and difficult for someone that doesn't fit the norm, any help to invite people in from outside the dominant group is only a good thing.

I don’t think it helps when the director said that black people “will always have his priority”, and then goes on to mention white dudes.
These people must know that kind of language will get jumped on, just as it would if it was the other way around.
No successful game of late seems to have these sort of controversies surrounding them.

They have his priority because they are under-represented and he is trying to offer advice and help to them. He's not saying he won't hire white people or help them. I don't get how such a genuine offer of help to a certain group is been construed as a bad thing. Im assuming you are a white guy who hasnt faced adversity based on his skin colour or had difficulty fitting into a workplace before been a minority etc.
