*** OcUK Crysis DX9 TopList ***

Maybe im being a bit too hopeful, but I actually believe that with the delay to the card, Ati are trying to sort out the drivers for games exactly like Crysis.
It stands out like a sore thumb that their high end GPU cant deal with it.

Upped the clocks on the GTX's.

67.575 fps

8800 GTX SLI @ 650/1050

Maybe if they fall in price again.
They were priced nicely around XMAS time but seem to have gone up again.
I do have a third PCIe but it's only 8x on the 680i.

Is the Crysis benchmark a valid tool ?

I sometimes don't get the same IQ even with the same settings

anyone ever get the mountains in the distance - looking much much lower resolution, yet other runs they are quite detailed ?

anyone else get this ?

could it be when the GFX card runs out of memory for all the textures ? I'll try and get comparison shots

Mark.

Certainly would seem to be under performing quite badly.
a few suggestions.

1:Bring up the Nvidia Control panel and check your PCIe speed.
from the help tab at the top of the screen, select system information.
Check where it says BUS if it says 1x you have found your problem
If this is your problem do No3

2: Have you messed with the ini files for the game ?
If so reinstall the game, or copy the default ini files over the ones you have changed.

3: uninstall your graphics driver, install your chipset drivers again, then reinstall graphics driver.

4:Check your CPU temps incase it is overheating and throttling.

Can anyone tell me why my scores so low :(...........

There's 2gb of 6400 ram as well. I was expecting around 35-40fps?

My GTX8800 (Stock) only does 27.50 or there abouts too, with a minimum less than yours (6 or 7 [it's that bit right at the beginning were it jerks] and a max of 41. My CPU is FX-55 (2.6).

About this game being GPU dependant??, well, look at some of the top scores with there 4+ gig cpus'! I've only had this GTX 2 days so not overclocking. However, scores above show it can be run( very playable) but - at a price, and what was Cryteks GFX card recommendations? can't remember now, but a GT/GTS or something. Yea......

3DMark 03 does 32,800 - so no slug, and *EASES* its way through COD4, FEAR and so on. Crysis....one expensive game!

Hey thanks for the advice. I checked the PCI bus speed and its at 16x so no problem there. The CPU is fine its prime95 orthos stable etc for 4 hours+ (hasn't ever failed at 3ghz) So i tried an uninstall but now when i come to re-install it says that its missing sound.pak i checked the disc and its not there (i guess the discs scratched or something) So now i really am stuck lol!

I think you've got some unique problem with it like me!

here is an example of the textures thing - I know its taken at a different point of time in the benchmark - but it can and will happeni n the same place

now if you set to High for textures + objects - this seems far more likely to happen - the one I captured is one of the better ones - its seems it jumps between different res textures, the first one is a screenshot from medium - note the texture on the mountain

the next from "high" - which seems to flick to this lower res mountain, and sometimes even lower res than that

so if this is true -the benchmark results can't be trusted can they ?

crysis low "minimum"

Can Anyone tell me WHY i'm getting the 7.79 as minimum (it jerks right at the beginning, and the benchmark doesn't really start moving correctly until nearly second loop. PC Specs: FX-55 (2.6) /GTX8800 (stock) /DDR400 RAM (2 GIG) 250GIG HD (16MB Cache) Win XP Pro (32)

Maybe I've missed asomething so obvious. There are people getting higher minimums than my averages:confused:

TIA
