OcUK Curborough Sprint Circuit - Monday 20th March 2017

Just got home.

Superb day, so glad I got the day off work in the end.

Can only echo what people have already said... thanks for lunch Housey, thanks for organising Kosta and great drifting (but not drifting as to keep to the rules) Clarkey!

Great to see familiar faces and meet new people. Lots of great cars, lots of great people and lots of fun. It rained heavily on the way home so that got rid of most of the grass up the sides of my car :D

Just started looking through the videos and photos... hopefully there are some good pics in there!

Thanks also to Gibbo for the passenger ride in the M3. That is one hell of a machine, my neck was aching by the end of the run.

No problem buddy, the M3 is hugely impressive and it certainly had a lot more pace in it particular in dry, just staying well within my limits. Glad you enjoyed it though! :)

Cheers Gibbo, threw me because I couldn't find it in the Start Menu but then remembered it's not pre-installed on Windows 7.

Yeah, M3 passenger ride was an eye opener. Certainly didn't expect that sort of performance!

Ahhh thanks, I'll check that out!

Hmmm, why is my car covered in grass?

I tried to provoke it and it bit me. I think my face says it all!

:D

Yus, boooost!!!11

Oh, wait...

Err, displacement!!!

You know what will fix that? More boost :D

Ive been looking at cheap RWD cars on autotrader / gumtree / ebay all evening, think I may get something just to learn to do what @Clarkey does and give no ***** if it gets smashed to bits.

*edit* looks like that sweary doesnt get censored oops :o

You have a GTR so your idea of cheap might be different to mine lol, but E36 325i/328i make excellent starter drift cars. Weld the diff, bucket seat, ebay coilovers, off you go.

Around that or similar, was even looking at a CAT D bmw z4 for just over a grand. Literally no kidding its entire purpose in life would be to learn to go sideways and if it hit things, who cares. Someone wants a go, theres the keys, dont worry if you total it.

Turns out yesterday has become somewhat expensive for me.

Just dropped in to my local tyre place to have the tyre I de-beaded removed, cleaned and refitted. One bent wheel and a pair of rear tyres down to 2mm. £75 a corner fitted for AD08Rs so it could be plenty worse

That was some tough grass. :(
Maybe there was a curb you clipped that did the damage or a rock in the grass as I've gone spinning off in grass before at over 100mph and car was like a spinning top, but no damage, except for pride and tonnes of grass and mud all over the car. :D

I hit a bit of a bank as I went up onto the grass, but it was quite a bang so there could well have been something more solid there . I'm more annoyed that finding another wheel to match is going to be a pig than the cost of it. TSW stopped making the EVO in the mid 90s and most of them I can find for sale are 4x108 ET35. I need either 4x100 or 4x98 ET10 to fit and match what I already have

Big thanks to Kosta for organising yesterday and Housey for the lunch :)

What a great day, always good to meet new people and see some familiar faces. Loved the noise yesterday, it makes a change to hearing just Mini's at track days/shows.

I was really pleased with my Mini, especially as it was only the 2nd time of driving it since it was built. I definitely need to learn to trust its capabilities more as the dry session proved in the afternoon, I just kept pushing and pushing it. All that will come with time, I think I fancy some driver tuition on a track day as I know im not the smoothest of drivers however it was such a fun experience and I am definitely up for doing that again later in the year.

I took plenty of pictures and videos yesterday, however I must have had the video settings wrong as they look like they were filmed on a potato, however I will post them up anyway, feel free to use them or post elsewhere.

Just editing them now and will post up later.
