OCUK Endomondo Team Thread

I'm going to have a go at my first 5k on Friday next week, I fully expect to be at the bottom of the challenge list, though hopefully not for long :)

Do we know who they are though? Hate to remove someone who was a member!
If they are a member they can post in here - it only takes a few moments to say "I am on endomondo as", after all.

I was a member of the team 'cyclists of britain' and they had challenges you had to join their team to be a part of. When you joined every one was ranked as members of the team. Can't seem to create one though.

If you click on people's names in the challenge then click the 'Friends' button on their profile, you can see if they are in the overclockers team or not and remove them based on that?

For example, Luis Joven, who is near the bottom of the 1mile challenge, is not a member of the overclockers team.

hmmm, actually there seems to be quite a few people who are in the challenge but not the team (Richard Dallman, Rob Bell, Buckster UK, Iain McJannet, Stewart Randall*). Maybe people from here are joining the challenges without spotting the team?

*I think Stewart must be an OcUKer, i recognise a few of his friends.

Hi folks

Just joined up..just started getting into road cycling this summer and need a bit of motivation to get out more. Of the people I know who ride I'm pretty much the slowest so if I can finish not last that would be a result :-)

Chris Rees

Cheers

I'm interested in this to, currently running between 2.8 and 3.6 miles three times a week. Also cycling but on a mountain bike (saving up for a nice road bike).

I'm using endomondo pro on my SG3 but I'm old school and have it set to miles not kilometres. Should I change this?

I ran 3.61 miles tonight in just over 31 mins, first mile uphill! I expect this is pretty slow compared to most. Something like this would give me motivation though :)

Usually runners will have it set to kilometres and cyclists will use miles. Thats just because most of the standard distances are measure in k for running (3k, 5k, 10k, etc) and miles for cycling (10, 25, 50, etc).
It just makes it a little easier to compare yourself to others if you know how fast you can do these standard distances but it doesnt really matter (and it matters less so when your using something like endomondo because it will calculate your times over those distances anyway)

Yeah mine is set to miles and it doesnt matter what settings you have the app on.

@pumaz - I mentioned this in the running thread but if you want someone to go cycling / running with let me know as I'm local. /stalker

Maybe sort something out after my holidays in a few weeks, still trundling along on a mountain bike at the moment but hoping to buy my first road bike after i get back from Turkey :)

Despite cycling an average of 50 miles a week they won't count because on the very rare occasion I used endomondo I had it set to "cycling, transport" doh!

From now on I'll have it set right and use it as much as possible!
