18+ forum please so that I can tell "GOOD" jokes that I get by the bundle each day but can't post otherwise they go like this

A ******* has a **** then says to his ****** ****** *****
*** *** ****** ******

Also please allow me to use acronyms that all other forums accept like IFAIK etc.

please don't change the sig rules either or i'll have to turn them off again....

I would like to see some of my mates back here who have been banned over what seem to have been pretty minor squabbles that got out of hand.
Actually so would I. Things get said in the heat of the moment and it all goes pear-shaped. But, there is a problem. A number of those banned members decided to take matters much further and publically said (and in some cases still are saying) some pretty nasty stuff. I can't see a way round that one

Almost GD then? :p

Then said persons should stay banned, imo. You wouldn't have banned them without a reason, and if they go spouting off like that, they're not doing themselves any favours.

The number one thing I've always changing on these forums, are the signature rules.

I think if you increased the allowed signature to around 500x100px @ 80 KB, a lot of people would be happier. Not only would this allow for people to fit their system specs in, but it would allow for more creative signatures.

I have to say, I would NOT like the introduction of animated GIFs/signatures. These forums are unoffensive to browse through, and animated signatures would rape the forums for what are now.

I would like to see a little more leeway when it comes to how many lines you can have in a signature. Fine, have some small (but legible) text in your signature - when you put that in a 500x100px image, it would consume the same screen space as a 500x100px signature containing images of Jack and Jill.

I'd also like to see some sort of add-on, where you click a computer near a user's name (ie: near the RTM button), and a list of that user's computer specs and details opens up. That would be so good to see!

One more final thing, while I remember, but I doubt I'll ever see it happen in my lifetime. :p I'd like to be able to choose my own avatar - and each user should be able to create and choose their own avatar also.

Perhaps make it a privilage to users with more than 5,000 posts, and have been a member for at least two years. As for the size of the avatar - perhaps a max of 75x100px @ 10 KB.

I think that's all. But I'd certainly welcome your views on these, Spie. Even if just to say "get stuffed, that's bloody stupid!" :)

I would be right in saying it is only some of those banned, yes? Possibly allow members previously banned to have to submit themselves for reconsideration? Possibly a time consuming move, but it could well bring some characters back here.

Very anti larger sigs and user defined avatars, though.

Take your pick, there are some women in there also :)

Obviously better pictures of them :p

Only thing that I particularly agree on what you said. One forum that I visit they allow animated avatars and I go around adblocking them. :(

As above, a dedicated laptop forum is a must. There are lots of 'Spec me a Laptop' threads in General Hardware cluttering the place up.

Change the name of the 'Motors' forum to 'BMW Owners'? :p

A more useful search function? Everytime i use it, it seems to give me some carp about me not typing enough words or something. What if i only wanted to search for something that was only one word or two? Search function says no...

Need an 18+ forum or relaxed use on certain words that are classed as swear words.
More avatars on the same theme.
laptop section.
Clearer moderating eg. reasons why things are removed etc.
longer to get into the MM and more posts.

other than that its fine as it is. :)

1) 18+ forum so we can all have a good swear and post links to porn sites ;)

2) More avatars for the people who have 1000+ posts.

3) More smileys, you can never have enough smileys :D;):):p

4) The ability to delete your own threads in case you post a thread that has already been created.

Much Love

Gonzo0, the lovable muppet.

I agree with the avatar thing of changing it to years instead of posts. That way its not a hidden spamfest.

I tend to keep low and not post much. I don't really see any problems staring me in the face. Maybe agree with the tighter controls in MM but apart from that its all good :)

How about a shoutbox? Probably completely out the question, but worth a mention.

No, I see exactly what you mean. We all get riled from time to time, I'm sure there are times when you've bashed the "Banned" button and thought "*** YOU, good riddance" to a member and then re-considered it a few weeks down the line. I know I certainly have!

Personally I've never subscribed to the old "sign up on a random other forum to slate the one you've just been bannded from" school of thought though. I'd rather raise issues with the people concerned directly than just complain about them elsewhere.

Don't get me wrong, me and thee have not always seen eye to eye on some matters, but I've always been able to sort it out with you without needing to **** you off on other forums. Not my style :)

A one shot chance to let bygones be bygones?

- Stricter MM rules
- Laptop forum
- A "Spec" thread could be a good idea as it seems a lot of the threads in General Hardware are "spec me" threads.
