OcUK Forums Changes

Keep the moderation at the level it is. The moderating team are doing a great job and it is what keeps this place great. If anything appoint a couple more dons.

More avatars would always be cool. As long as they keep the theme.

MM also needs something done. Although it appears to be back to normal right now.

Permaban forum? We don't need to glorify those who broke the rules.

Lock the random pictures thread. It adds nothing to the forums and I continuously see content that is either iffy or too far from the line.

Oh and the SA, can we have the bodybuilders and bikers in their own forum? but i suppose thats just me being miserable but the ammount of creatine/two wheeled threads gets daft in there sometimes

Agree with that or just a football only forum :)

And like others have said, more avatars.

I don't think splitting the GC forum in to Nvidia/ATI is worth doing, how would you compare cards etc. and one of the best things about the forum is the heated debates, when conducted maturely, and you'd lose them.
And it is just you being miserable G|mp, SA is the best sports forum I visit due to its diversity and knowledgable members who on the whole are a pretty decent bunch, I'd say leave it as it is:)

I would like to see some of my mates back here who have been banned over what seem to have been pretty minor squabbles that got out of hand.

I wouldn't want general rules relaxed.

Bit more transparency never goes amiss :)

Something for the ladies?

Don't split the console forum up, I've seen it done on other forums and it's just crap.

I have a suggestion that hasn't been mentioned and probably won't go anywhere but I'll put it out there anyway. I think the competitor rules should be loosened in the gaming forums. I can understand it for the hardware forums as that is Ocuk's primary market, and Ocuk will in 99% of cases have an equivalent product for anything you want. However when it comes to games there is little on offer (do they even do any games anymore? I can only find gaming hardware), so I think it would make sense to allow members to talk more freely about where you can buy games.

I agree with this though, good suggestion.

I agree with a lot of the suggestions above and some others I would welcome.

I wouldn't like anymore smilies - I like the sense of uniformity these forums have, if there were to be anymore, maybe cover emotions we don't have e.g. a "crying" one or a vomit one.

I don't think sigs need to be heavier than 20Kb.

If we can't talk about why people have been banned - then at least allow us to access their username and find out why ourselves. This might help us learn from their mistakes - and prevent e.g. posts and even threads about the issue which both will be deleted.

An extra avatar or two for e.g. 2500+, 5000+ 7500+ posts and if possible combine them with the amount of time they have been a member here for.

Some equivelent ones for women - chosen to keep within the theme, no stupid Jordan or something.

Ability to delete our own threads irrespective of what forum/child forum we've posted them in.

Make people leave feedback - I have done at least ten more satisfactory transactions in the MM, but people sometimes don't bother writing anything for me. On ebay - they tell you when you haven't left feedback. Maybe an option for the seller/buyer to indicate that they're about to make a transaction with another user, therefore in someway setting up a reminder system telling people to leave feedback? (I hope that makes sense).

Forgot one:

Merge Home cinema & HiFi with Sound City. Seems illogical to have them separate. Also courses threads to end up in the wrong forum or split to which one it is more relevant to.

Haha. I don't own any of them; it was merely because it's downright silly people reading everyone's arguments in there and I thought I would touch someone's nerve posting by posting the above. (And indeed it would seem I did?)
Didn't strike my nerves, since I quite like the Wii. It just looked like you were "one of them" when you "stuck up" for the Wii the way you did, in a sort of pedantic manner, especially with "pointing out" that little fact about it being the best-selling console out. I would've said the same thing if you said "360" instead of "Wii" too.

I apologise if that wasn't your intention, but it really did look like it, and I feel it strengthens my point. :)

Mostly I'm more than happy with it as is. If pushed the small changes I would like to make ruke wise would be to end stuff like this thread....

A guy asks a simple question requiring some help and or guidance. He's polite and not known for spamming and yet people just feel they have to add something no matter how un helpfull. Most of the replies are not even funny.

So many GD threads are now jumped on in that manner.

I'd have those posts removed and warnings for that kind of stuff.

I'd like to see the rules relaxed on recommending places that is suggesting a product that ocuk dont sell. I understand the rule if OCuk sell the said item but to recommend Halo 3 for £3.99 at woolies I dont really see why that cannot be said.

Ah yeah. Seen it many times, it was funny at first but now every other thread seems to be "kill it with fire", "punch it in the ovaries". It gets old.
