OcUK GUIDE TO ORDERING YOUR AMD 9070 GRAPHICS CARD TODAY AT 14:00

Morning Gibbo,

Is there any way to retrospectively retrieve an order number.
I checked out as guest and got an order number, payment has been taken but I stupidly didn't note the number as expected an email. I haven't had any email correspondence, other than for another order I cancelled due to making this new one.

I'm not worried as it's a pre order of the Nitro+ 9070 XT and I saw the order number. It would just be nice to know it for any correspondence I have.

I've raised a ticket but had no response.

Thanks for any help.

Check your SPAM, we email all customers to the email inputted when ordering, that will have order number in it.

can I provide you an e-mail address via DM and approx. time of order? that's all I have

Drop your email here, I will note it and forward to our CS team to look into, I shall then delete your reply so your email is not public for any more than 5-10 mins

remember, its not the manufacturer/shop that dictates the market, its the buyers..dont buy and prices come down, buy when prices are gouged and you deserve all you get in the next gen card prices.
True however when there are other demands, customers willing to pay much more, prices ain't going to come down.

A decline in demand for gaming GPUs would only work to lower the price if there were not other demands, demands like EPYC, data-centres, CPUs, and that's just in the short term for AMD specifically. If you take a longer term outlook we'd also need to see a decline in demand for Nvidia workstation cards, for Apple products, etc, etc.

There's demand for years. TSMC's cutting edge nodes are fully booked, the demand for AI hardware sees no sign of abating, Apple are selling more products with M series processors than ever before.

I have checked my Spam and it's not there unfortunately. This was also the case for the order I cancelled so I'm not receiving emails for some reason. I luckily made a note of that order ID I cancelled though.
When I cancelled the Steel Legend my friend ordered one, had no email correspondence regarding the order either but still received the GPU the following day so I'm not the only one who's experienced no emails.

I'm not concerned about my order status, I just want to retrieve my order number if possible.

Can an order ID not be found from other details? I 100% have an order number as it was displayed after the order. I've also been charged and no refund has been issued. It's my stupidity for not noting the number down.

@Gibbo, I realise the site collapsing is a part of this mess (and a very frustrating one - trust me on that haha), and that bit is on OcUK; but gotta say I'm impressed you're in here at least trying to make sure genuine customers who've fallen into holes are being resolved, especially the gent who's order got cancelled unreasonably. Honestly a large part of the website frustration could be resolved by putting a 5/15/60 minute checkout lock on items like other sites do, so maybe something you could suggest internally? In high demand items, it's not like the items won't sell anyway, just means the people genuinely there first should be the ones who get the items, rather than the massive waves of bots.

I've had orders damaged in warehouse and the likes on limited edition items before at other retailers, and never got looked after, so it does fill me with a little happiness here to see you're doing your best to make sure people who genuinely ordered recieve something :)

PPS, you're a bad man who got me to spend money on launch day #Nitro+ ;)

Please can you let me know the order number?
I can then get this sorted for you.
Had my experience been OcUK contacting me to say there was an issue with payment, confirming the GPU I had placed an order for was still available, and sent me a way to pay then I would happily have continued my order.
However my experience has been a cancellation email from Amazon, followed by only getting a response to a ticket I raised with customer care, to you taking the angle of "as a customer you did something wrong", then denying I had confirmed order. Therefore I won't be making a purchase, and have found the card I wanted for less that I tried to pay you guys last week, and have purchased elsewhere.
This entire experience has been "you are a bad customer", it could have been an empathetic "we understand why you used Amazon pay, however there has been an issue and this is how we can help". You can't treat customers like this and expect them to continue to support your store.

Maybe I've missed something here, but Gibbo said to you just earlier today:
"Do you have an OcUK order number?
If the order did go through you will have an OcUK order number.

OcUK does not cancel peoples orders, we have never done this and we always fulfil back orders at ordered price, so if you have an OcUK order number, I shall get CS to confirm it this end and if we did get the order, I shall find out the details. If we did get it and someone this end cancelled it then I shall make sure it is honoured.

Post the OcUK order number as a reply to me and I shall get it looked into. :)"

It seems there's been a system screw up between the Klarna and the Amazon order, which Gibbo wanted to get resolved - it doesn't seem like he's blamed you here; more highlighted Amazon can be an unreliable transaction partner when the site is struggling under load.

I'm glad you managed to get an order sorted for your card; but as it's become clear you did have an order, and Gibbo's initial info was wrong, it does seem he's been willing to try and help resolve; and to your benefit; as he has for several people in this thread where he's requested initial purchase price is honoured with CS.

Shall forward to CS and request they honour your order, do give us a day or two as CS are swamped, but as you have an order number I can see its genuine and shall aim to honour what you ordered and the price you ordered. :)

Thanks @Gibbo , I shall await the email from CS. You may have made my young lad's day as the GPU was for his system :)

But for some strange reason we (collectively) seem to think a CPU like the 5800X3D or 9700X at $450 and $360 respectively are not a lot of money despite them containing dies that are four times smaller than a GPU.

If paying £500 for a product that contains a 357 mm² die is a lot of money what is paying £315 for a product that contains a 70 mm² die, should a 9700X cost £80 or should a 9070 cost £1,200?

Don't get me wrong as i, like most people, think we're being asked to pay way too much for gaming GPUs. However i don't see that changing anytime soon for the simple fact that everyone and their dog now uses TSMC for cutting edge nodes and they have limited capacity so products with higher profit margins take priority.

As I said, the time will tell.

I won't pay £400 for a processor either. My current setup is getting old but still delivers majority of what I need

5600x - £200
CM 212 Turbo - £20
Tomahawk B450 Max II - £50
32GB Ballistix 3200@3600 - £80
2 x 4TB Samsung EVO - 2 x £120
1 x 500GB Crucial P5 - £36
Corsair RM650X - £78
NZXT 340 Source - £40
Samsung Odyssey G5 32'' - £170

all bought brand new, on offer, from the UK retailers, majority obviously a good while ago. if that need to serve me for another year or two, it's fine. All games I play at 1440p@75hz, still run with decent details and look good enough for me.

If I needed to change the platform now, I would still get decent setup for about £400 ( Ryzen 7 7700 from aliexpress + decent 650 motherboard + 32GB DDR5 6000 CL30)

I refuse to spend more than I am comfortable with, even though 2k isn't really a lot of money for me. I did it once with rtx 3070 (£580 for this cripple, selling Vega 56 for £350 made it a bit less bitter), I regret it, and I will never do it again.

I am casual gamer, work full time, I travel regularly, I have family, life and quite a few interests. I have PS5, XBOXX and can buy another console if necessary. If that's going to be my last gaming rig, be it.

yeah I would like X3D but I'm not paying those prices £500/£600 just for CPU is too much, I picked up a 7700 Ryzen 7 for a good price, it's gone down another £20 or so, good value.

Only reason I'm spending £600 on a GPU now is my last GPU was 9 years ago, the 480 has done well so I haven't bought new GPU every gen.

Prices are nuts right now, especially as I got a 7800X3D for £360 back in April 2024. Same cpu is now ~£420 even after the next gen one has come out!

Mine arrived today, had to delay delivery as had been out, I note that CS have now refunded my delivery charge too after querying that as I think their system was playing up (no surprise given demand) so paid £60 over "MSRP" not shabby at all really, the card is an excellent product for the money, thanks @Gibbo

Absolutely understand your rationale for GPU update, long time overdue.

Sticking firmly to the budget is the best weapon as both manufacturers and retailers are looking to exploit us, that's the cruel nature of the big business. I am positive that the prices WILL go down, maybe not much but they will as the mid range at £800 is not acceptable, especially in other , non western countries.

Shall ask th m to refund my delivery charge as a member of the forum?
